How can a blind person learn to see with her tongue or a deaf person learn to hear with his skin? What does a baby born without a nose tell us about our sensory machinery? Might we someday control a robot with our thoughts? And what does any of this have to do with why we dream? The answers to these questions are not right in front of our eyes; they're right behind our eyes. This book is not simply about what the brain is but what it does. Covering decades of research to the present day, Livewired also presents new findings from Eagleman's own research.

This is a fantastic production. The best of the 3 audio books I have purchased so far. It clears up many questions I had and shows how versatile this practise can be. It has life changing insight into the WHM.
Do the right thing and add it to your library, especially if you question its validity and effects. And if you are a sceptic, why not try the practise for yourself?

A Difficult Listen.
Firstly, the audio quality is not up to standard at all, ambient noise is a bit much. Secondly, really wish they didn't settle for a middle ground interms of performance. Either use a professional ebook reader with no dramatic personality or have Wim himself read his book. This is somewhere inbetween and sounds forced. I often found myself drifting off and not following whats being read. So cannot recommend this unfortunately, and will buy the physical book instead.

Narrator!
Narrator was extremely irritating. Seemed to try and oversell every single line. Because of this it was hard to tell if the book was just poorly written or if he made it sound that way. Content wise, it could have been 1 chapter long to get the info you needed.

Great book but should have been narrated by Wim!
I've been practising the Wim Hof Method for a few months now and have been enjoying the breathing sessions and tolerating the cold showers!
The book is really great and goes much more in-depth which I found very interesting. You can see that Wim is really genuine and wants to help people and our planet.
I was really looking forward to hearing Wim read this book but he's not the narrator which was VERY disappointing (hence the four stars). With Wim narrating, it would have got 6 stars!

Time too embrace the cold.
This was a lovely book. i have liked Wim for a while now soo i knew i had to get this book. it introduces you too the Journey Wim has been on . and its shocking how such a simple method can cause soo many great things. i was almost done with the book yesterday, but was already inspired to test this out for myself. soo i did the breathing before going to bed. when i woke up i got straight into the shower. enjoyed the warn water for 2minutes, and then i turned it cold. i stood there for 1 minute, just breathing and letting the cold Water run over me. after that i sat in my bed and did 1 round of the breathing, and then i did pushups and biceps curls. and i shit you not, i struggled dooing more than 10 pushups before, but now i did 20 with ease. im now starting my own Journey to see what the cold and a little breathing can do for me...
highly recomend this book.

Transformational
I have always been intrigued by this method and this man. This book did not disappoint.
As a free diver, I have explored my breath using various techniques, investigated many approaches to breathing for prolonged exposure under water and have been building my breath hold slowly over time.
This book gave me yet another view on breathing. However rather than focusing on how long I can hold my breath, it has shown me the positive benefits throughout my entire body, through use of these simple techniques.

It is really disappointing that this was not narrated by Wim. The American narrator does not suit the style of the book and it just sounds odd such a personal story being told by someone else.

I think very highly of Wim. I do his breathing exercises and take cold showers. I had hoped to gain some new knowledge, insight or practice from this book. Nothing new was shared that I had not already known from his many YouTube interviews and casts. If you are very new to his method, deffinitely worth a listen but otherwise not.

Definitely Useful but alot pretty far fetched
As an atheist and person of science.... A few things in here that I'm very glad to have read over and definitely have taken on board with breathing for exercise but as you get further on on the claims with what the breathing can help with get a bit too far fetched for my liking.
