The Ramcharitmanas is undoubtedly one of the greatest lyrical compositions in Hindi literature. Writing in the 16th century, Tulsidas chose to pen verses in Awadhi rather than Sanskrit, thus breaking with literary tradition and, importantly, making Lord Ram more relatable to the lay person. Pavan K. Varma, author of the best-selling Adi Shankaracharya: Hinduism’s Greatest Thinker, has selected some of the most evocative stanzas - offering a succinct commentary for each - that capture the very core of the original.

Extolled for his extraordinary courage and sacrifice, Bhagat Singh is one of our most venerated freedom fighters. He is valourised for his martyrdom, and rightly so, but in the ensuing enthusiasm, most of us forget, or consciously ignore, his contributions as an intellectual and a thinker. He not only sacrificed his life, like many others did before and after him, but he also had a vision of independent India.

But, bald facts aside, just who are the Bengalis? What is the community all about? In order to find the answers, the author delves deep into the culture, literature, history and social mores of the Bengalis.

Story
It is a time of violence as well as calm. Men of peace are spreading the message of the Buddha even as monks are being tortured in the dungeons of Pataliputra. In Magadha, all talk is about the impending war against Kalinga. While King Ashoka plots the movements of his ships and cavalry, Queen Asandhimitra broods over the growing unrest in the kingdom. There is only one man they can both trust to take them through this period of uncertainty and looming danger: the enigmatically named Brahmin, skilful spymaster and custodian of Magadha’s best-kept secrets.

Story
The Ramayana, one of the world's greatest epics, is also a tragic love story. In this brilliant retelling, Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni places Sita at the centre of the novel: this is Sita's version. The Forest of Enchantments is also a very human story of some of the other women in the epic, often misunderstood and relegated to the margins: Kaikeyi, Surpanakha, Mandodari. A powerful comment on duty, betrayal, infidelity and honour, it is also about women's struggle to retain autonomy in a world that privileges men.

Publisher's Summary
Truth Eternal - The Heartfulness Way Series
Have you ever wondered about the nature of the soul? And how your heart, mind, physical body and soul are connected? And what happens to the soul at the time of death? Have you wondered about the origin of consciousness? And how it manifests in minerals, plants, animals and human beings? In this philosophical treasure, Lalaji shares some profound insights on these topics as well as on the creation of the universe, the evolution of human beings and the pinnacle of human potential. This is yogic science at its most profound, a masterpiece of our time, by one of the great visionaries of the 19th and 20th century, Ram Chandra of Fatehgarh.
Truth Eternal is a masterpiece of our time. It illuminates the science of existence itself: shedding new light on consciousness, the mind, the soul and Vedic wisdom and our relationship with the cosmos. This book beautifully describes the origins of the universe and our place in it, challenging our beliefs and ushering in a new era of spiritual enquiry.
About the author:
Ram Chandra of Fatehgarh was known to many as Lalaji. He was born in 1873 in Fatehgarh, Uttar Pradesh, North India. A great sage and spiritual scientist of the highest calibre, he became the first Heartfulness Guide. He was also a family man of perfect human etiquette and civility. Lalaji rediscovered the ancient art of Pranahuti or Yogic Transmission, which is the speciality of Heartfulness. By doing so, he revolutionized meditation practices so that all interested seekers can reach the highest approach in this lifetime. His discovery defines the modern era of spirituality, and the greatness of his contribution to humanity is yet to be revealed.

Overall Good
This is a masterly book rendered into an Audio book with great fervour. The content is unquestionably excellent food for thought and practice. Not an extra word, it is so compact. However I do not know why the narrator who is otherwise perfect, should be making simple mistakes in coomon words like Brahman and Neri. This is a jarring feature. Also the word Primarily. These mistakes distract attention and spoil the narration. Wish someone had gone over the final version and corrected the mistakes in what otherwise is a beautiful and pleasant narration of a masterpiece.
