Publisher's Summary

If you’ve ever been so pissed off that you did things that you regretted, or ruined your own day and some other people’s, too, this book is for you. Or if you feel angry every single day and it’s affecting your health and sleep and love of life. Or if you have very good reasons to be mad as hell, and you aren’t going to take it anymore. Or if you’ve repressed your anger all your life and now it’s all coming out at once. Microcosm Publishing best seller Dr. Faith explains here what the hell is going on in your brain and how to retrain yourself to deal with enraging situations more productively and without torpedoing your relationships.

Unf*ck Your Anger gives you a heady dose of neuroscience and cultural explanation of what anger is and what it does to you, and then gives you a handy four-step checklist to help you deal with maddening situations after (or before) the fact, guidance on getting over things, and a chapter on forgiveness. Your brain actually knows what it’s doing, and anger can be a good thing sometimes - just not if it’s ruining your life.

Good exept the social justice/ white guilt part.

The anger management skills are very good. But unfortunately at the end there is a whole acknowledgement of your white guilt part. Im here for anger management. Not your identity politics.

Hard to get past the F bombs

Okay- you are right, the title says Unf*ck, and I expected some vulgarity. I was a USMC infantry squad leader- so harsh language isn’t a moral issue here with me. I’ve heard and used that language in the past.
This book is good, could be great if the shoes, fucks, etc could be reduced. It was hard to focus wondering where the next “fuck” was going to be used when it didn’t need to be.
Toward the end the author did scale it back and I felt like I could finally listen
If the author gave a PG version, it would carry more weight
The person reading was incredible.

I felt personally attacked in a good way

There are times you were going to want to punch the author in the face, not because she’s wrong, because she’s hitting the mark so directly it’s almost like she’s your therapist and she’s hitting you with a hard truths that you never took the time to listen to or understand.

I wish I’d come across this book sooner, but I’m still glad I came across it. I’m beyond confident it will help me with my interactions not only with others, but with myself.

A must read/listen for anyone who wants to control and understand their anger and frustration better.

Common Sense Advise with Lots of Swears

Nothing new or groundbreaking. Just good advice on understanding anger and methods to work through it. She dumbed it down by cussing a lot.

Written for crude nasty people.

This book is written as if the writer is trying to convince you she is just a very hip and cool kid. I use swear words in my own life as well but the way this is written is just plain cringe worthy. This book is not made for self respecting adults. It’s for young teens that want an “edgy” feel to their therapy. The writing is down right abysmal.

Very good for anger management

I like this Unf*ck book more than the other ones. It makes being mindful about anger more clear to me.
