Excellent!

I loved this book. It is well written, with well drawn characters, a compelling story, with a truly satisfying ending. What’s not to love?

Who did you tell

What a brilliant book really I couldn't stop listening full of twists right up too the end. Narration was excellent.

Really Very Good

An intelligent story brilliantly read by both narrators. For me a ‘full review 5 star listen’ which is extremely rare.

Boring

Half way through and not sure if I can see it out. Feels more of a chore to listen to instead of me rushing back to listen to it. Story doesn't seem to be going anywhere.

A haunting story

Initially I wasn’t sure about the story or the narration but found that I had to keep listening and became absorbed in this audio. I felt very close to the main character and was haunted by the fragility of her circumstances and the anxiety she was feeling. It kept me guessing with misdirections and the twists lasted to the very end. I would definitely read or listen to another book by this author.

Covers addiction in a powerful way.

An interesting story line highlighting the effects of alcohol addiction.
I really liked Astrid’s mother, her character was honest and caring.

Lesley Kara you have done it again!

Oh my goodness this book has me hooked from the get go and I struggled to put it down, after reading The Rumour last year I was very much looking forward to this one and it definitely didn’t disappoint.

It was okay

The narrator was great until she does Joshs voice. She makes him sound awful to the point I cringe when I know he is going to be in the chapter.

The story dragged a lot and I am halfway through and I am only finishing it because I have nothing else to listen to.

Brilliant!!!

The storyline is different to any other book i've read. I wasn't sure I'd enjoy it at first but decided to give it a go because I have really enjoyed Lesley Kara's other books. Before too long I was hooked. The story is beautifully narrated. I would recommend.

Not very interesting

Very disappointed! What a shame as the other reviews were great but the main character was annoying and story just dragged on and on...

So tedious I couldn't finish it.

"What am I doing?"" laments the protagonist, a recovering alcoholic., again and again. Sorry, but this book is one big yawn.
