Zeugen wollen die Chorleiterin Lou Müller als Täterin erkannt haben. Lou flüchtet, und eine Verfolgungsjagd beginnt, bei der Meier und seine Partnerin Zita Schnyder eine düstere Geschichte aufdecken, deren Ursprung im Zürich des Zweiten Weltkriegs liegt.
