• The Church Has A "Done" Problem
    Jul 15 2026

They didn’t leave Jesus… they left the church.

A growing number of Christians still believe, still pray, and still love Jesus—but they’ve quietly walked away from church. They’re often called “the Dones.”

In this episode of Beyond the Numbers, I explore:

    - why so many people never returned after the pandemic

    - what Acts 2 reveals about the church God intended

    - why community is something we desperately need even after being hurt.

If you’re a pastor, ministry leader, volunteer, or someone who has experienced church hurt, this conversation is for you.

    Because maybe the question isn’t…

“How do we get people back?”

    Maybe it’s…

“What are we inviting them back to?”

👇 Join the conversation in the comments:

Have you ever considered yourself one of the “Dones”?

What would healthy church look like to you?

  • Jesus Never Worried About His Brand. We Can't Stop.
    Jul 8 2026

A youth pastor gets asked to step down. Not because he failed. Not because students stopped growing. Because leadership decided he'd aged out.

I've had this same conversation multiple times over the last six months. And it's just one symptom of something bigger.

The church has started caring more about how things look than how healthy they actually are.

In this episode I'm sharing three real stories: a worship pastor hired for optics who felt used from day one, a church that bought me brand name shirts because I gave the wrong image, and the prosperity theology that turns poverty into a spiritual failure. And then we look at the one model that actually works the one Jesus gave us.

This is for the leaders who've been discarded because of optics. For the ones who've been doing the hiring and know it. And for every church that's drifted from health into image management without noticing.

  • Church Leaders: The Real Reason Why Church Scandals Keep Happening
    Jun 17 2026

The church is trending. Not for miracles. Not for lives being changed. For scandals, cover-ups, and corruption. And the question no one is asking is — why does this keep happening?

In this episode I'm not pointing fingers at specific people or piling on. I'm asking a harder question: what did we quietly discard that was supposed to protect us from this?

The answer is two things. Discernment and integrity. And I think losing both of them is connected to something most of us didn't even notice happening.

This episode is for pastors, ministry leaders, church staff, and anyone who loves the church enough to ask the hard questions.

  • What If No One Notices? | The Quiet Ministry
    Jun 3 2026

One of the most impactful ministry moments I ever had happened in a baseball stadium… and almost nobody knows about it.

In a culture obsessed with views, followers, platform growth, and recognition, it’s easy for pastors, youth leaders, and volunteers to believe that ministry only matters when people notice.

But what if the moments that change lives the most are the ones no one ever sees?

In this episode of Beyond the Numbers, I share some stories from student ministry:

-Including a hospital visit at 2:30 AM

-A simple baseball game that changed a student’s life

-and the hidden moments that shaped his ministry more than any sermon ever could.

If you’ve ever felt overlooked, exhausted, or wondered if your work is making a difference, this conversation is for you.

Because heaven doesn’t measure ministry by views.

    It measures it by faithfulness.

  • Can't Touch This: The Rise of The CEO Pastor
    May 20 2026

When did so many pastors become... Unouchable

What happened to the role of the pastor?

Somewhere along the way, access was replaced with distance… and shepherds started looking more like CEOs. We cared more about the look, and status than Christian leadership, and being caring church leaders.

In this episode of Beyond the Numbers, we dive into the tension between platform and presence, growth and discipleship, and ministry wise, ask a hard question:

Are we still building people… or just building systems?

Next week, Voices From the Field returns with JonMark Baker from Minor Prophets as we dig deeper into celebrity culture, leadership, and the tension between building platforms and shepherding people.

    Jun 10 2026

Sometimes the biggest move of God happens when nobody is watching.

In this episode of Beyond the Numbers, I sat down with Fernando and Faith to talk about leaving visible ministry, walking through cancer, stepping away from platform culture, and learning what it really means to trust God in the quiet seasons.

    If you’ve ever wondered:

    * “Did God forget me?”

    * “Why does God keep slowing me down?”

    * “What if ministry became my identity?”

    * “How do I know when to step out in faith?”

    …this episode is for you.

Whether you’re a youth pastor, church leadership, volunteer, church planter, or someone simply trying to follow God faithfully, this conversation will challenge and encourage you.

  • When Goals Might Be The Problem
    May 27 2026

Most pastors don’t start ministry wanting to build a machine.

But somewhere along the way, it’s easy for church leadership to become more about growth, performance, numbers, platforms, and pressure… than actually making disciples.

In this conversation with JonMark Baker from the Minor Prophets podcast, we talk honestly about:

    • Shepherds vs CEOs in the church

    • When church goals become unhealthy

    • Why discipleship often gets replaced by performance

    • The danger of building ministry identity instead of Christ-centered identity

    • How pastors can check their hearts before burnout or pride takes over

This wasn’t a “call-out” conversation, but more of a heart check for all of us.

If you’re in ministry, leading volunteers, serving in church, or just wrestling with what healthy leadership actually looks like… this conversation matters.
