Season One Review — The Island May Be Sleeping…

Season One of Widow’s Bay is officially in the books, so Steven and Raven are taking one last look at the evidence board before the island settles in for its long slumber.

We hand out the first-ever Widow’s Bay Awards—favorite episode, best character arc, biggest WTF moment, worst decision, most terrifying moment, best performance and more. We also tackle the mysteries that are still keeping us up at night and make our predictions for Season Two. Werewolves? Lake monsters? A return to the original settlement? The mysterious hospital? And which characters might not survive what comes next?

Then we open the mailbag for some Field Reports, including theories about Patricia, Ruth, the Boogeyman and what may really be happening beneath the surface of Widow’s Bay.

Finally, we look ahead to the next phase of Beyond Widow’s Bay: Jaws, The Shadow Over Innsmouth, literary investigations, and other movies and shows that share a little DNA with our favorite strange island.

Season One may be over.

The island may be sleeping. Apparently, we are not.

Stay curious. Stay observant. Until next time.

Episode 10: “We Hope You Enjoyed Your Time” — Part Two

The storm may be over, but the investigation is just getting started.

In Part Two of our Widows Bay season finale coverage, Steven and Raven dig into the revelations, unanswered questions, and theories left behind by “We Hope You Enjoyed Your Time.”

What does the finale tell us about Richard Warren’s covenant and the sacrifices that kept Widows Bay safe? What happened to the town’s carefully organized system for paying its supernatural debt? And what exactly has been hiding beneath the folklore all along?

Steven follows a trail of teeth, bites, wolves, and one very suspicious family story that may reach all the way back to Episode One, while Raven looks at the uncomfortable parallel between Tom and Bashir—two fathers willing to sacrifice someone else’s family to protect their own.

Plus: Kenny, the bells, the Warren bloodline, the meaning of fear, a possible werewolf problem, and plenty of red string as we take one last look at the evidence board before closing the case on Season One.

The storm has passed. Eight bells remain. And Widows Bay still has some explaining to do.

Apple’s Official Episode Description:
We Hope You Enjoyed Your Time!

We’ve reached the Season One finale of Widow’s Bay—and there was no way we were fitting this investigation into one podcast.

So Episode 10 is becoming a two-part Beyond Widow’s Bay investigation.

In Part One, Steven and Raven concentrate on the episode itself, walking through the finale, the characters, the reveals, and where the story leaves Widow’s Bay at the end of its first season.

Then, in Part Two, we clear some space on the evidence board.

Steven heads into the Mythos to revisit clues that may have been hiding in plain sight all season. Raven takes over with the Raven Board for a deeper look at the characters and psychology behind the finale. And finally, we put everything we’ve learned over ten episodes together and indulge in a little speculation about where Season Two might take us.

There are still plenty of unanswered questions.

And we have theories.

The Season One investigation continues in Part Two.

Stay curious. Stay observant.
Investigation ongoing.
