An ASOS sale loves to see me coming! Why? Because I can be very impulsive. In this episode we are going to be talking about the contrast of acting on impulse versus adopting a more patient approach to living. To help us consider the pros and cons, we are going to look at the story of someone who acted on impulse to their own detriment in the Bible - Uzzah. In 2 Samuel 6:1-7 we learn a very sobering lesson from Uzzah’s end. We learn that even well intended impulsiveness can be very damaging.

Can I share something with you? I have always found it challenging to let go of things. Especially when no apology has been issued or when the person that has done me wrong has no remorse. I used to think of holding grudges as an Olympic Sport. But I reached a point in life where I just didn’t have the capacity or energy for it. I realised something needed to change. The statement, "people-pleasing is not a fruit of the Spirit," really activated something in my mind and I haven’t stopped pondering on it since. The questions that I want us to tackle today are both what the source of our people pleasing is as well as whether people pleasing is even a Godly trait. In order to stop doing something, I think we first need to understand why we do it in the first place. Let’s unpack this one together.
