 From a prison cell in Rome, the Apostle Paul penned this corrective letter to the church at Colossae. Located in Asia Minor (modern Turkey) this ancient city was once a thriving community. Within a short period, less than 50 years, after the death and resurrection of Christ, they had succumbed to heretical doctrines influenced by paganism and a splinter of Judaism. Paul had to counter this false doctrine of angelic worship by reminding them that Christ is the "Icon" of the invisible God, and the Creator of all things. In this series of messages, Pastor Scott digs into the Old Testament and the Greek language to help us fully understand exactly who Jesus is, and what is our relationship to Him, as children of God. As you continue in this series, you'll understand that because of the fall, (Adam's disobedience) we all start out from birth, alienated from God.
