Dr. Andrea Buchholz is a registered dietitian. She has been a professor of applied nutrition at the University of Guelph since 2004. When Andrea is not teaching, doing research and enjoying life as an academic, she is enjoying the other side of her brain with improv. She has studied, taught and performed comedic improv for the past 20+ years and she enjoys improv because it teaches us that it’s okay to take risks and fail. She also loves to explore and learn about fun hobbies like tap dancing and how to lift fingerprints from crime scenes. Sarah has some serious troupe-envy for Andrea’s long standing improv troup, TriCity Comedy. They perform monthly in Waterloo, Ontario.

Matt is currently a PhD student in Biomedical Sciences at the Baylor College of Medicine. In this episode, we have another certified veterinary practice manager and improv afficianado, Judith Asséo. (But you can call her Judy.) Judy has a life long love of helping animals and people, which has led to a career in veterinary medicine. She is currently the Senior Director of Operations at Western Veterinary Partners. At the same time, she has been an improv performer for over 30 years and performs regularly in San Francisco as part of the Secret Improv Society. How much has improv influenced her career managing people? A lot? Are veterinarians challenging to work with as a group? Maybe. Are veterinary specialists special, but maybe not in a good way? Lynn Harris is a comedian, journalist, novelist, political activist and story teller who is the founder of GOLD Comedy. Gold Comedy is,the comedy school, professional network, and content studio where women and non-binary folks grow their comedy careers. I know what you are thinking, but is she a doctor? Nope. She is not a health care professional. We broke the rules on this episode because Sarah just really wanted to have her on the show. We are dipping our toes into the world of other professions that do comedy. Lynn is an award-winning journalist and novelist.
