Conversations for Godly Transformation is a space where we slow down and talk about the ideas that shape how we live. Each episode we explore powerful non-fiction books - from habits and mindset to leadership and purpose - and we ask one simple question: How do we actually live this out? We will unpack practical wisdom from books like Atomic Habits and the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, and connect those insights to faith, character and everyday life. This isn’t about perfection, it’s about progress- small intentional steps that lead to meaningful change.Rebecca Babier, BSBE-BSEE and Nerlande Vincent, MBA Christianity Ministry & Evangelism Spirituality

  • What Does Sin Really Mean? Healing & Living by God’s Design with Rick Nerestant - Part 2 [Ep 22]
    Sep 9 2026

In Part Two of our conversation with author and speaker Rick Nerestant, we go deeper into the meaning of sin, separation, repentance, and transformation.

Rick explains how Lucifer and one-third of the angels separated from God, describing it as the first spiritual “divorce.” We also explore why sin is more than simply doing bad things—it is a state of separation from God—and why repentance is more than changing behavior. True repentance is about turning back to God, restoring that relationship, and allowing Him to transform us from within.

We also discuss Rick’s book, I Would Be Different, and the importance of self-reflection—especially why it can be easier to recognize someone else’s mistakes than our own.

If you listened to Part One, this conversation picks up right where we left off. If you haven’t heard it yet, go back and listen to Part One first, then come back and join us as we take the conversation even deeper.

  • What Does Sin Really Mean? Healing & Living by God’s Design with Rick Nerestant - Part 1 [Ep 21]
    Sep 2 2026

What if sin isn’t merely a list of wrong actions—but a deeper disconnect from the life God designed us to live? And what if understanding sin differently could change the way we see guilt, grace, healing, and spiritual transformation?

In this compelling conversation, we sit down with author and speaker Rick Nerestant, author of The End of Sin and I Would Be Different, to explore the difference between a gospel that simply comforts us and a gospel that actually changes us. Rick shares a perspective on sin that moves the conversation beyond guilt and condemnation and toward freedom, healing, restoration, and transformation.

We also talk about what it means to function according to God’s original design for our lives—to understand who we were created to be and to recognize how living outside of that design affects the way we think, live, and relate to God and others.

This conversation invites us to look beyond behavior modification and ask a deeper question: Are we simply trying to become better people, or are we allowing God to restore us to the life He designed us to live?

If you’ve ever wrestled with the meaning of sin, guilt, grace, spiritual transformation, or what it truly means to walk in freedom, this conversation will challenge you to see the gospel from a deeper perspective.

  • Automate to Elevate: Commitment Devices and the Freedom of Letting Go [Ep 20]
    Aug 26 2026

In this episode of Conversations for Godly Transformation, we dive into Chapter 14 of James Clear’s Atomic Habits and explore two powerful ways to make good habits easier to maintain: commitment devices and automation.

We discuss how making certain decisions ahead of time can protect us from relying on willpower in the moment, and how automating parts of our lives can reduce friction, simplify our routines, and help us stay consistent with the habits that matter most.

But habits and systems can only take us so far. We close out the episode with a conversation about surrender — learning to release our white-knuckled grip on control and trusting God with the outcomes we can’t engineer ourselves. Because sometimes the most powerful “commitment device” isn’t a system we build, but a decision to let go and let God take the wheel.

Do what you can. Put wise systems in place. Then release the outcome to God.
