In this Sunday message from Divine Savior Church, Doral as part of the Jesus Unplugged series, we explore the Gospel of John 13:1–17 and the stunning moment Jesus washes His disciples’ feet. In a world that pursues charisma, power, and influence, Jesus doesn’t ascend a throne — He kneels with a towel. He shows that true leadership isn’t about status, applause, or platforms, but about humble service and sacrificial love.

Through the lens of Scripture, we’ll see how Jesus unplugs our obsession with greatness and reveals a kingdom where glory is found in stooping low for others. We’ll also consider how the Old Testament promise in Isaiah 42:1–4 and the example of Christ’s obedience in Hebrews 5:5–9 deepen our understanding of servanthood.

This Sunday at 9:30am, Pastor Ben Kuerth brings the final message in our Return to Sender series: “Investing in What Lasts.”

In 1 Timothy 6:17–19, God reminds us that what we give in His name is never wasted. The treasures of this world fade, but a life of generosity, surrender, and faith leaves an eternal impact. Every time we give, serve, or love in Jesus’ name, we are returning His gifts to Him — and He uses them to change lives forever.

As we close this series, we celebrate the joy of investing not in temporary things, but in eternity.

The One Thing Needed | Return to Sender | Luke 10:38–42

This weekend we’re taking time to focus on something our hearts desperately need but often overlook: the one thing truly needful. In a world full of noise, hurry, and endless distractions, Jesus invites us to slow down, sit in His presence, and let His Word give us rest, clarity, and purpose.

We’re blessed to welcome a guest preacher from Martin Luther College, Pastor Dave Scharf, who will share a message from Luke 10:38–42 and help us reflect on what it means to build our lives around the one thing our souls truly need. He’ll also share how God continues to raise up pastors, teachers, and staff ministers to serve His church — and how we can encourage the next generation to consider the joy of public ministry.

This fits beautifully within our Return to Sender series. As we talk about giving God our time, talents, and treasures, it’s important to focus on how Jesus first gives us Himself. He centers us. He fills us. He reminds us that everything begins with receiving His grace.
