In this episode, Fr. Greg and Fr. Kyle reflect on the Annunciation and Mary's extraordinary response to God's invitation. Her fiat—her “yes” to God—is far more than passive acceptance. In saying, “Let it be done to me according to your word,” Mary offers a radical openness to God's will, trusting Him enough to let His plans shape her life.

What would it look like for us to live with that same openness? How can we move beyond simply accepting God's will to actively surrendering ourselves to His invitation, wherever it may lead?

Join Fr. Greg and Fr. Kyle as they explore Mary's example and consider what it means to make our own lives a wholehearted response to God.

What if Scripture is more than a collection of ancient stories? What if it is God’s love letter to us—a story of His unwavering love and His promise to never abandon His people?

As we conclude our series on Salvation History, Fr. Kyle and Fr. Greg reflect on how Jesus fulfills the Old Testament covenants and establishes a new and everlasting covenant with us. In the Eucharist, our “Amen” becomes a renewal of our commitment to Him: Jesus gives Himself to us completely, and we are invited to give ourselves back to Him completely.

Throughout salvation history, God reveals His heart to His people, patiently preparing our hearts to receive the fullness of His revelation and love. From the beginning, He has been drawing us into a deeper relationship with Him.

We have a God who is always present, who knows the deepest desires of our hearts, and who never stops inviting us into His love. The story of salvation is ultimately the story of a God who gives everything to be with His people and invites us to do the same.

🎙️ Welcome back to the Fed & Sent Podcast! What if Scripture is more than a collection of ancient stories? What if it is God’s love letter to us—a story of His unwavering love and His promise to never abandon His people?

King David was a man after God’s own heart, yet even he fell into grave sin. In this episode of our Salvation History series, Fr. Kyle and Fr. Greg explore the story of David and Bathsheba, examining how one sinful choice led to a series of increasingly serious sins as David tried to cover up his actions.

But David’s story doesn’t end with sin and failure. It also points us toward the incredible mercy of God and the hope of reconciliation.

Fr. Kyle and Fr. Greg discuss the gift of the Sacrament of Confession and reflect on the beauty of seeing people come forward, acknowledge their sins, and desire to be reconciled with God. David’s story reminds us that no matter how far we have fallen, God’s mercy is always calling us back to Him.

What if Scripture is more than a collection of ancient stories? What if it is God’s love letter to us—a story of His unwavering love and His promise to never abandon His people?

In part three of this series, Fr. Greg and Fr. Kyle explore the story of Moses and the Exodus story. When God calls Moses to lead His people out of Egypt, Moses feels unworthy and unqualified. He questions whether he is the right person for the task, but God assures him that He will be with Moses.

Moses' story is a powerful reminder of God's providence. We may not always understand why God is calling us or how He could possibly work through our weaknesses, but we can trust that God provides what we need. God can work through people who feel inadequate, uncertain, or afraid to accomplish great things.

As we enter a season of change with Journey in Faith, Moses' story invites us to ask: Where might God be calling us to trust Him more deeply? Even when we feel unprepared or unsure of ourselves, God remains faithful. His plans are bigger than our limitations, and He never abandons His people to what He calls them to.

Join us as we explore the great story of Scripture and discover how God's love is woven through it all.

Happy Feast Day of the Archangels! On this special day, we would like to feature and honor one of our parish communities under the patron saint St. Gabriel. Fr. Casey sits down with life-long St. Gabriel parishioner, Mary Phillips, to talk about the history and community of this parish.

Mary also shares some beautiful insights for parishioners to reflect on as we continue our Journey in Faith. She openly shares her experience of wrestling with the loss and uncertainty that can come with change, while also holding onto the hope that God will bring something good from this season.

As we continue building connections throughout the Ames Area Pastorate, we hope to honor and feature each of parish communities and celebrate the unique stories, histories, and people that make them special.

(P.S. Please forgive our technical issues! We are aware that the audio recording is less than ideal in this episode, and we appreciate your patience and understanding.)

Fr. Casey and Emily Heupel, one of our Campus Ministers here at St. Thomas, discuss the part that Abraham and Isaac play in salvation history in part 2 of this series. God is never outdone in generosity, and we can see that in Abraham's and Isaac's journey to Mt. Moriah to offer a sacrifice.

As we all enter in a season of change with Journey in Faith, this message is especially timely: even when things around us change, God remains faithful. He will never abandon us!
