    On this episode of Food Allergy Talk, I welcome Tristan Tierce of Allergy Voyage.

    Tristan is Co-Founder and CEO of Allergy Voyage, graduated from Barrett, the Honors College at Arizona State University in 2024 with a double major in Business Entrepreneurship and Art Studies. He had his first anaphylactic reaction at ten months old, diagnosed with EOE at 4 years old. He has outgrown a vast number of allergies, but is still anaphylactic to Dairy, Pistachios, Cashews, and allergic to red meat, egg, and a couple other things. Tristan is Currently based in Dallas, TX with family.

    Allergy Voyage is a platform and service, primarily at Arizona State University, that helps people with food allergies find safe dining options by filtering menus, providing ingredient lists, and connecting them with dietitians, reducing the anxiety and risk of eating out. Founded by Tristan during his time at ASU, it aims to bridge the gap between consumers and restaurants, offering transparency and tools for safe, confident dining experiences, especially for those with severe restrictions.

    Tristan's Bio: Allergy Voyage Co-Founder and CEO, Tristan Tierce, had his first anaphylactic reaction at ten months old, and was diagnosed with eosinophilic esophagitis at age four. Traveling to different hospitals, speaking at FARE events, and contributing to local support groups, Tristan has always actively engaged with the allergic community and advocated for others with dietary restrictions. Tristan began to encounter travel-based struggles with dining out after moving out of state for university, inspiring the creation of Allergy Voyage!

    When discovering her allergies she was living in MN but due to not being able to buy food in grocery stores had to move to CA.

    Her journey of discovering her allergies was complicated. At the time corn was not tested for and she had to figure it out on her own for over 2 years.

    Today we are going to learn about Amy’s story, and how her journey with food allergies let to her book, The Hidden Consumer: Uncovering the Power of Health-Conscious Buyers.

    On this episode of Food Allergy Talk, I welcome Dr. Ahmar Iqbal is a physician and senior leader at Genentech, a pharmaceutical company.

    At Genentech, Dr. Iqbal is the Therapeutic Area Lead for Respiratory and Influenza, where he has been leading medical initiatives for nearly a decade. Recently, he worked closely with the National Institutes of Health and the Consortium for Food Allergy Research (CoFAR) on the Phase 3 clinical trial called OUtMATCH that supported the FDA approval for Xolair in food allergies in 2024.

    With a career spanning GSK, Pfizer, and Eli Lilly, he has played a key role in advancing patient-centered care focusing on immunology/allergy/respiratory care and in clinical research and medical affairs. Dr. Iqbal earned his medical degree from Karachi University in Pakistan and an MBA in Healthcare Management from Boston University. Before joining the pharmaceutical industry, he practiced as an internist and worked on healthcare quality initiatives. Dr. Iqbal is based in the San Francisco Bay Area and enjoys watching sports especially at the stadium/arena, volunteering, and reading (paper books still).

    Meg is the Chief Operating Officer at Amulet. She has nearly two decades of experience positioning and launching consumer products, therapeutics, and medical devices—including multiple first-of-its-kind devices. She also spent several years in clinical sales at Pfizer and Stryker.

    Meg is the former President of Food Allergy Partners, a food allergy and intolerance consulting practice. She has a daughter with peanut and tree nut allergies, and she herself has intolerances to gluten, dairy, and citrus.

    ABOUT DR. HAWKINS:

    Elizabeth has spent the past 20+ years helping individuals, families, and communities develop and practice greater psychological flexibility and resilience. Educated at the University of Washington and UC Berkeley, she has a broad base of training in cognitive-behavioral therapies, attachment theory, family systems, indigenous health, and multicultural feminist therapies. She is a licensed psychologist in Washington and Oregon and under the Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact (PSYPACT), she is able to practice telepsychology in at least 41 additional states.

    Elizabeth enjoys working with food allergy families to strengthen skills and strategies for living full, meaningful lives while balancing health and safety concerns. In addition to her training and expertise as a licensed psychologist, she has 15 years of lived experience as a food allergy parent and advocate. Her daughter has had allergies to more than twenty different foods, including seven of the nine top allergens, plus environmental allergies, eczema, and asthma. She has experience with SCIT, SLIT, and OIT and is the co-author of the book Treating Food Allergies with Modern Medicine.

    Elizabeth is the founder of Food Allergy Hive (www.fahive.com), an online membership community providing non-clinical resources on the emotional impacts of food allergies and food allergy treatments. Hive members have access to full-length workshops; a library of short video clips of actionable skills and downloadable tips and scripts; weekly drop-in support sessions; monthly events; and a community space to connect with others living with food allergies off of social media.
