• What My Parents Carried
    Jun 28 2026

Two weeks ago, my mother became a published author at 96 years young. One week ago, my father joined her at 98. On today's walk, I talk about carrying — the stories we hold for years before we set them down, and why the moment to set yours down is never behind you. Naomi Good by Gladys Duhart and The Joneses by Lyrie Duhart are both on Amazon now.

  • Father's Day Episode — The Joneses Launch
    Jun 21 2026

Today is Father's Day — and today my father, Lyrie Duhart, becomes a published author at 98 years young. In this episode I walk you through what it means to release a debut novel nearly a century into a life: the jazz years, the Army, the decades of work, and the story he carried the whole time. The Joneses is here. So is my mother's debut, Naomi Good. Two parents, two books, one family still standing. A Father's Day reflection on why it is never, ever too late to tell the story you were meant to tell.

  • 3 of the June launch runway
    May 31 2026

Two weeks out, and everything changes. On June 14, George's mother, Gladys Duhart, becomes a published author at 96 years young with her debut novel, Naomi Good. One week later, on Father's Day, June 21, his father, Lyrie Duhart - a jazzman who played with Ray Charles in 1943, an Army veteran, soon to turn 99 - releases his first book, The Joneses.

In this walk, George counts down to both launches and carries one truth: you are never too old, never too late, to begin the thing God placed in your heart. Two elders. Two debut books. One bloodline still standing.

Grab the free first chapter of both books (link below) and mark your calendar: June 14 and June 21.

  • Mom at 96, A Debut Novelist
    May 10 2026

Today is Mother's Day. Today my mom Gladys Duhart

becomes a published author at 96 years young.

Mom was born in 1930 in McComb, Mississippi. She

left at 18 for East Hartford, Connecticut. She

married my father Lyrie in 1950. They have been

married for over 75 years. They raised five

    children.

A few years ago, mom was sitting in a nursing home

when she told me God spoke to her. He said she

had stories left to tell. So mom started talking.

I started writing. Page by page, a novel emerged.

The book is called Naomi Good. It is faith-based

fiction grounded in the real Mississippi mom

remembers. A Black woman in 1931 rural Mississippi

    who refuses to disappear.

Today, on Mother's Day, the book is real.

In this episode, I share mom's story, the story

of Naomi Good, and the moment family came through

first when my cousin Karen reserved the very

    first signed copy.

Mom is hand-signing the first 50 paperback copies

herself. When the 50 are gone, the signed edition

    closes forever.

The bigger message for every Champion carrying a

story they haven't put on the page yet: the page

is still empty. You are still allowed to fill it.

The Kindle ebook publishes on Amazon this week.

  • Food for Thought While You Walk: Stewardship of Story
    Apr 26 2026

This week on Food for Thought While You Walk, Chef George K. Duhart

steps back from the recipes to talk about something that's been on

    his heart all week.

Mom turned 96 this weekend. Dad is 98, turning 99 in September.

Both have stories that have lived inside them for decades. And

this year, both of those stories are becoming books.

In this episode, Chef George talks about stewardship. Stewardship

of money. Stewardship of food. And stewardship of story — the

currency that matters more than money. The wealth that disappears

    when we don't capture it.

What story is your family carrying right now that needs to be

written down, recorded, or asked about? Don't wait. The time to

    ask is now.

Food for Thought While You Walk.

Fired Up. God Bless. Peace Out.
