In this episode we talk about the latest happenings from around the NHL including the retirement announcement of Alex Ovechkin and some key injuries to some players around the NHL. We then look back at the 5 game road trip of the Utah Mammoth when they went 3-2 on the trip collecting 6 of 10 points to help maintain their position within the Central Division as well as talking out the Vegas Golden Knights as they hit the road for 2 and then back home for 2.

We then recap our predictions for week 2 and 3 as we continue our quest vs Slapshot Utah and give our predictions for week 4 as well as our players of the week.

In this week-one recap, we break down the chaos around the league, dig into Utah's dominant opening wins and standout performances, and unpack Vegas's uneven start and goaltending concerns. We debate stars, power-play success, and the early analytics trends, hand out player-of-the-week picks, and update the prediction standings before looking ahead to week two. Plus: first impressions of the Delta Center remodel, opening-night arena vibes, merch limits and scalping frustration, and some hockey-nerd fan-encounter tangents to close things out.

Update: During the editing process, our friends at Slapshot Utah submitted their week 2 predictions, so we've included them at the very end of the show.
