    What do Japanese OEMs expect from suppliers today?

    In this episode of Japanese OEM Insights, I look at how expectations for suppliers are changing and what companies need to think about when pursuing business with Japanese automakers.

    Quality, cost, and delivery still matter, but OEMs are also placing greater emphasis on speed, manufacturing competitiveness, supply-chain security, transparency, localization, and early involvement.

    I share examples from my own experience, including how we approached supply continuity by qualifying production in both North America and China before a problem occurred.

    The goal is simple: help suppliers better understand how Japanese OEMs evaluate risk, capability, and long-term readiness, and how to prepare before the opportunity arrives.
