Malka Lawrence speaks with Barbara and Norman Miller, co-founders of Indigenous Friends of Israel, an Australian advocacy organisation bringing an Indigenous perspective to supporting Israel and the Australian Jewish community through education, advocacy, and public engagement. Norman, who is of Indigenous heritage, and Barbara, who has decades of experience in Indigenous affairs including early work in land rights and reconciliation, have led solidarity initiatives, public advocacy, and programs aimed at combating antisemitism and fostering dialogue. In this conversation, we explore their journey, their work, and the challenges and opportunities in strengthening connections between Indigenous and Jewish communities in Israel and Australia.

Maurice Klein speaks with Lt Col (res) Sarit Zehavi, the founder and president of the Alma Center in Israel, a non-profit and an independent research and education center, specializing in understanding the security challenges on Israel's Northern border. Sarit was selected by the Jerusalem Post as one of the Top 50 Most Influential Jews of 2021 and has been interviewed well over 500 times by the world media post-October 7. Sarit provides us with a comprehensive update on the extensive efforts of Hezbollah, the state within a state in Lebanon, to regroup after the war with Israel late 2024. Sarit then details the dilemma that Israel has with Syria's nascent President-by-force, Islamist Ahmed Al-Sharaa, along with the most confronting issues that Israel has with the Islamic regime of Iran, that as we have recently seen, will in a heartbeat and with no compunction, kills its own people by the many, many thousands at a time. Their lives changed forever as they endured beating and torture in the infamous Evin Prison, other hidden detention facilities, life on the run, hiding, avoiding IRGC traps, and rejected visas due to IRGC reach, but eventual, miraculous saving by the fortuitous intervention of fellow ex-prisoner, Dr Kylie Moore-Gilbert. Maurice Klein speaks with Heidi Kaye and Rowan Devereux, producer and director of Meister, a short documentary about Holocaust survivor, Jack Meister OAM Zichrono Livracha. By the age 13 Jack Meister found himself alone before the gates of Auschwitz and at 17 when liberated, had survived Radom, Auschwitz, Flossenbburg and Buchanwald. We hear from Heidi and Rowan who captured Jack's testimony on film with many recordings before he passed away November 2025 age 97; how after rehabilitation Jack moved to Australia in 1949, resurrecting and having a happy life with much purpose, with his wife, daughter, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Jack - B488, his concentration number tattooed on his forearm, received his OAM for services to the Sydney Jewish Museum, where after initially being apprehensive, volunteered at the Museum for decades right up until he passed away, turning his survival into a lesson for others, with his sensitive and inspiring testimony having a special effect and impact on the thousands whom he shared his story with, in the same spot every Thursday at the Museum. As we lose the final generation of survivors, first hand Holocaust survivor testimony is disappearing quickly. Heidi and Rowan, independent filmmakers are now in the heavy lifting phase of post-production, where editing, sourcing archival footage from international collections and creating animations to bring Jack's memories of life in their short documentary. They are now seeking financial support from the community with tax deductible donations.
