  • Genesis 20 - The Covenant in Danger
    Jan 8 2026

Genesis 20 is a breath-holding chapter. Just as God has promised that the long-awaited son will be born within the year, Abraham’s fear once again places Sarah—and the covenant itself—in danger. How can the promised seed come if Sarah is taken by another king?

In this episode, we walk through Abraham’s sojourn in Gerar and see the sovereign hand of God at work: restraining sin, protecting the promised seed, blessing and cursing nations, and preserving His covenant despite human failure. Genesis 20 reminds us that God’s Word cannot be thwarted—He actively steers history to fulfill His promises at the appointed time and in His appointed way.

This Let Us Consider series is a structured, year-long reading plan through the Bible. Each weekday includes passages from Genesis through Acts, along with one chapter from Psalms and one from Proverbs. On Saturdays and Sundays, the focus shifts to the New Testament epistles. Together, this rhythm will guide you through the entire Bible in a year, balancing historical, poetic, and doctrinal portions of Scripture.

Be sure to also check out the regular Let Us Consider teaching episodes, where we move beyond the readings to explore the meaning, theology, and application of God’s Word.

  • 1 Chronicles Introduction
    Jan 7 2026

In this episode of Considering the Story, we turn to 1 Chronicles—a book often overlooked because of its long genealogies and its similarity to Samuel and Kings. But 1 Chronicles is far more than a historical retelling. Written to Jews who had returned from exile, it offers a priestly, hope-filled perspective on Israel’s past and a renewed focus on the Davidic Covenant.

We explore why Chronicles was written, how it differs from Samuel and Kings, and how its structure highlights God’s enduring promises to David and his line. Walking through the book chapter by chapter, we see how genealogies affirm God’s faithfulness, how David’s reign is presented with theological purpose, and how the promise of an eternal throne anchors Israel’s hope—and ultimately points us forward to Christ, the Son of David.

This episode will help you read 1 Chronicles with clarity, purpose, and anticipation as we continue tracing the unfolding story of God’s redemptive plan.
