Have you heard of Common Roots?

The answer is probably yes, which is why we were excited to have both Christian and Melanie Weber on the podcast. Christian is one of the co-founders of Common Roots, with his father Bert Weber. Melanie is the CEO of Fronhofer Design, an engineering firm that specializes in designing and manufacturing craft beverage equipment.

This husband and wife powerhouse of the craft beverage industry join us to discuss both of their companies, what it was like for Melanie to start a totally different company with her friend just after having her first kid, and what it has been like to see the evolution of Common Roots.

Because, let's be honest, the story of that brewery is a little wild.

There's just something about running and beer that we haven't been able to figure out. Thankfully, this week we had Paul Loomis, president of the Roundabout Runners Club in Malta, on the podcast to discuss why all these run clubs have beers after running.

We also discuss his other job as controller of Gilbane Building Company and how they get to build the new Buffalo Bills stadium, and what it was like for him to explore different craft beers.

Most importantly, though, we get to the bottom of what the hell knickerbockers are. Hopefully we aren't too late to the game on that one.

On this episode, we are joined by the ever-affable Dan Bronson, general manager of SingleCut Beersmiths. A brewery based in Queens with not only an additional brewery in Clifton Park, but the soon-to-be-opened satellite taproom in Manlius.

Which, honestly, we're still trying to figure out where that is and how SingleCut found it.

Well, Dan covers exactly that topic, what it was like to be part of the brewery in its very nascent stages, and what it's like to see trees.
