• Changing the Landscape
    Oct 29 2025

In this episode we consider what has changed as the result of the work and campaign activism of so many, over the past decade. We then look at what still needs to change to improve the menopause landscape further. I am delighted to be joined by my friend and fellow campaigner Fiona Clark for this episode. Fiona is a health journalist, author of Meno Wars and founder of the Menopause Research and Education charity, an organisation that I am proud to be a trustee of.

  • Menopause and Beyond
    Oct 22 2025

In this episode we focus on the often overlooked subject of menopause and beyond. The narrative around menopause has been, and often still is, negative, but with the right help and support, at the right time, it doesn't have to be that way. Menopause can be a transformational time that can offer an opportunity to reflect, take stock, consider the future and your own self care. If you have found yourself yearning for some calm, peace and relaxation or perhaps some time alone, this is the episode for you.

I am delighted to be joined by poet Becky Hemsley, who not only reads one of my favourite poems but also tells us about the inspiration for her poem.

    Oct 1 2025

In this episode we focus on the important topic of menopause and work. I am delighted to be joined by my friend and fellow campaigner Katie Taylor, founder of the Latte Lounge and author of Midlife Matters. Katie talks to me about her experience of trying to work out what was happening to her while trying to continue in a job that she loved, but was finding it increasingly difficult to do, as a result of symptoms that she had no idea were related to menopause.

  • Don't Believe the Hype
    Sep 24 2025

The menopause landscape has become increasingly competitive, commodified, and commercialised over the past few years. The greedy genie is out of the bottle and won't be going back any time soon. Sadly, this is nothing new, women and girls have been targetted with advertising and marketing messages for products and services for decades. However, what could be seen simply as an irritation can have potentially harmful effects.

In this episode we consider some of the impacts of the commodification and commercialisation of menopause and women and their health.

Welcome to episode ten of Making Menopause Matter

Please note this episode includes content that discusses suicidal thoughts.

All too often women feel that they are not being heard by health care professionals when they express concerns about their own health. Sadly, this is still not uncommon for those experiencing menopause. In this episode I am joined by Joan who talks to me about her experience of trying to get the right help and support for the menopause symptoms that had a devastating impact on all aspects of her life.

Welcome to episode nine of Making Menopause Matter

In this episode we focus on the potential options for seeking professional help and support for menopause. We consider what those options might be, how to make informed choices about who to see, and how to get the best out of your appointment and your investment if you are parting with your cash to see someone.

We consider NHS GPs and specialist clinics, private clinics and providers and therapeutic and complementary options.
