About this listen

In this 8-episode podcast series, veterans are given the chance to speak candidly about the challenges they face acclimating to the civilian world upon serving in the military. We search for veterans in dark places in the hopes of uplifting them through voices to which they can relate.

Veterans in crisis need to know they are not alone, and the mission of this series is to convey that message as broadly, clearly, and effectively as possible. We will work tirelessly toward that end.

  • Ep. 8: LTC (Ret.) John Peeff
    Dec 3 2025

LTC (Ret.) John Peefe speaks of his journey from a young boy in San Francisco to Vietnam and back to San Francisco as a Battalion Commander in the San Francisco. Facing hostile anti-war activism that often devolved to riots, LTC Peeff remained steadfast in his determination to be successful despite the bitterness caused by these hostilities and speaks about the mission-oriented mindset needed to adapt and overcome. This is an episode about resilience and the mentality that makes it possible. I pray it finds those who need to hear it.
