Rev. Junia Joplin (she/her) – June to most folks – is the Associate Pastor of the Metropolitan Community Church of Toronto – Toronto’s historic and history-making queer church. She loves telling people they are unconditionally loved with an everlasting love, and sometimes she delivers that message in a leather clergy collar, a rainbow catsuit, and iridescent silver platform boots. June serves as the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Lead for the Toronto Pride Hockey Tournament, an annual event that creates an inclusive space to support and celebrate queer women, trans athletes, and their fans. Broadview Magazine tapped June to host their award-winning podcast about women in the Bible, called And Also Some Women, in 2023. She is a past recipient of the Canada 150 Community Leader Award and was named one of Canada’s Top 25 Women of Influence in 2021. She loves stand up paddleboarding when it’s warm outside and playing hockey when it’s cold outside.
