  • Take Cover, Tune In
    Mar 16 2025

What are we supposed to do when we hear an outdoor warning siren?

I bet you came up with a very situational protocol, such as: go in the basement, a tornado is coming.

Let’s reframe the narrative - warning sirens are ment to alert you that there is an imminent threat to human life and you need to get more information. tl;dr: take cover and tune in.

This one goes out to all the federal employees constantly refreshing their news feeds. Wondering how they will put food on the table if their paycheck doesn’t arrive and worried about what happens during a shutdown.

This episode is about 3x the length of the average episode - in hopes of just getting a little more info out there.

  • Let’s Talk About Detroit - The Helpers
    Feb 24 2025

This past week, an unexpected, incredibly emergent situation occurred in Detroit. A massive water main broke, causing the neighborhood to not only be flooded but frozen solid.

In situations like this, if we take a moment to pause and look, we can almost certainly find the helpers.

Shoutout to my dearest realtors Selling Woodward and high school peer Laicee Thill Photography for being the helpers during this horrific emergency. You are truly the ones who continue to keep humanity moving forward. And shoutout to their communities, as to my shock both of their projects were funded before I even had a chance to see their calls to action, respond, and donate.

While the times we live in are incredibly challenging, we can get through this together with the help of community and compassion.
