    Grief is a serious emotion. We feel the loss and depth of despair after we lose an animal, loved one, job, relationship, money, home, marriage or possession. There are phases including emotional shock, denial, sadness, fear, anger; our immunity and weight can change as well as our sleep habits. We may not be comfortable in our skin. Linda and Candy spoke about their recent losses last week, Linda a friend, Candy her cat yet both were grieving their losses. Candy refers to support programs.

    Linda and Candy have 38 years of recovery each & help others achieve sobriety. One of the slogans we learn is "one day at a time'. This is overwhelming to a newcomer and to people with long term sobriety. It means take it step by step, minute by minute, while dealing with withdrawal, emotions surfacing, confusion, redirection, learning new concepts, forgiving oneself from the past.
