  • EP 94// How to Handle Sibling Competition & Still Be a Team | Raising High-Performance Athletes (with Trent & Lindy Sharon)
    Oct 6 2026

How do you raise highly competitive kids who want to win—but still genuinely root for each other?

In this episode we continue our series: The Good, The Hard, and The Holy Work of Raising High-Performance Athletes. Chase and I sit down with Trent and Lindy Sharon, who have raised five incredibly competitive boys in a family where rodeo, wrestling, ranch work, faith, and a whole lot of time together have shaped the way they approach parenting.

We talk about raising competitive kids without letting comparison take over, teaching work ethic and accountability, and helping siblings understand that even when they’re competing against each other, they’re still on the same team.

Trent and Lindy share some really practical things they’ve done along the way—from making their boys responsible for their own rodeo entry fees, to their “two and three” conversation after every competition, to teaching them how to celebrate a brother’s success.

But this conversation goes deeper than raising successful athletes. We talk about prioritizing marriage in the middle of a busy rodeo family, expecting our kids to do hard things, giving them room to learn from failure, and building a faith that becomes their own—not just something they inherit from us.

Because raising high-performance athletes isn’t only about preparing them to compete. It’s about raising kids who know how to work, how to lose, how to win, and how to love each other well along the way.

    Let's elevate our game!🔥

  • EP 93// Are You Pushing Too Hard? Raising High-Performance Athletes Without Making It All About Performance (with Charlie and Lorissa Kingsbury)
    Sep 29 2026

Part of The Good, The Hard & The Holy: Raising High-Performance Athletes series.

How do we raise driven, competitive kids, push them toward excellence, and still make sure they know their worth has NOTHING to do with how they perform?

If you’re parenting a high-performance athlete, you’ve probably wrestled with where encouragement ends and pressure begins. How hard do we push? When do we step back? And how do we coach our kids through the wins, losses and hard days without letting their performance determine the atmosphere in our home?

Charlie and Lorissa Kingsbury are back with Chase and I for such a real conversation about parenting high-performance athletes. We talk about coming alongside our kids instead of controlling them, creating a Kingdom atmosphere at home, handling performance pressure, protecting the relationship, and making sure our kids know we are always on their team.

This isn’t about lowering the standard or taking away their drive. It’s about raising confident, resilient athletes who know who they are, Whose they are, and that their value will NEVER be determined by a scoreboard, a time, a run or an outcome.

If you’re raising a competitive athlete and trying to figure out the good, the hard and the Holy work of helping them chase big dreams without making their life one big performance—this conversation is for you.

    Let's elevate our game!🔥

  • EP 92//Raising High-Performance Athletes: The Good, the Hard & the Holy Work of Parenting
    Sep 22 2026

Raising high-performance athletes is GOOD. Watching our kids dream big, work hard, handle pressure, and chase the gifts God has given them is one of the greatest parts of parenting.

But man… it can be so hard too. How much do we push? When do we back off? How do we teach discipline, resilience, and a strong competitive mindset without making performance their identity?

In this episode, I’m kicking off a brand-new series on raising high-performance athletes—the good, the hard, and the holy work of parenting. We’re talking about supporting big dreams, navigating pressure and disappointment, knowing when to coach and when to just be Mom or Dad, and learning to want success FOR our kids without needing performance FROM them. And most importantly, how do we keep faith and the Kingdom at the center of it all?Over the next few weeks, I’m sitting down with parents who are right in the middle of this too—having honest conversations about what’s worked, what hasn’t, and what God is teaching us along the way.

If you’re raising a driven, competitive kid with big dreams, you’re not going to want to miss this series!

Let’s figure out the good, the hard, and the holy work of raising high-performance athletes together. 🔥
