About this listen

In a world that is consumed with ‘self’, are we as Christian women supposed to practise self care? And if so, how do we do it in a Biblical way that keeps Christ at the centre? With Perimenopause and it’s often debilitating symptoms starting around the age of 35, knowing how to care for our bodies can mean the difference between misery and truly living a life to the glory of Christ in all aspects of life (marriage, parenting, career, friends, community, etc.) True self care is nothing other than good stewardship of our bodies. It’s a selfless act that requires self-discipline and commitment. It includes not only good nutrition and movement, but most importantly pockets of white space, filled with the truth of God and reflecting on His Word and being in close relation with Him. This podcast explores Godly femininity, Perimenopause & Hormonal Health, Self-stewardship, Christianity and a life empowered by His grace and the Truth of God’s Word. Together we’ll dive into how to practically LIVE God’s truth in your health, marriage, family, business/career and community. I’m honoured to have you here.... xx Vandghie is a qualified Dietitian, specialising in women’s & hormonal health. • 44:The Importance Of Your Pace
    Sep 16 2024

If there was one single piece of advice I would give to any women suffering from symptoms of hormonal imbalance during perimenopause, it would be SLOW DOWN....

Your adrenal glands are possibly not keeping up with the pace, which leads to lower production of sex hormones and high levels of low-level inflammation.

In this episode, I share 5 principles that I live by and some hard questions that you need to ask yourself.

Join me on this episode and let's talk about your pace.

  • 43: Contraceptives & Perimenopause

A common 'solution' for the health system to the symptoms of perimenopause, is hormonal contraceptives. Particularly when it comes to period symptoms such as heavy, painful or irregular periods.

In this episode, I talk about why hormonal contraceptives is actually no solution at all and why you should do further investigation and look for alternative solutions.

Rom 5:1-5: "Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. 3 And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; 4 and perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5 Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us."

  • 42: Nourishment in Perimenopause
    Sep 2 2024

Unfortunately, Dieticians are contributing to the unhelpful and unhealthy 'diet culture'. I've been part of that for many years before understanding that I needed to have a different approach to help women adopt a lifestyle of nourishment.

If you've wondered about intermittent fasting, keto, vegan and all the rest of the diets out there, and if it would be the right thing during Perimenopause, this is the episode for you. Food plays a major role in hormone balance (or imbalance), and by starting with your food mindset and food choices you can make the biggest difference.

I'm sharing 5 key strategies to adopt a nourishment approach instead of doing the next popular diet.

If you would like to get some blood testing done, this is the testing that I suggest you get done. Also feel free to send the results to me so I can help you interpret what it says.
