  • Shadow Slave: The Dead Dark Lord Hired Me (Ch 2274-2292) Audiobook Episode 119
    Oct 12 2026

    Episode 119

The Lord of Shadows was supposed to be dead, and in the opening chapters of this Shadow Slave episode, a shell-shocked recruit named Corsair learns exactly how alive he is. This is fantasy web novel Shadow Slave in anime-style audiobook form, and this stretch trades war for the strange peace after it: a secret second Dream Gate under Central Government HQ, a Dark Castle that is literally a living Transcendent Devil, and Sunny waving lazily at his newest employee while complaining that Aiko never thought of the black market.

What I loved here is the tone. Sunny wakes up beside Nephis, sits through morning meetings where Cassie rattles off reports about the Night Garden and a worrying volcano under Ravenheart, and Effie loudly lists his virtues while not knowing he is under the desk. A few chapters in, we follow his seven incarnations across the realms: one exploring caverns beneath the ruined Crimson Spire, one bleeding for Slayer's power in the Nameless Temple, and two fighting a losing-but-winning battle against the Black Millipede swarm in the Burned Forest. Slayer decapitating a Millipede Queen that hides between moments of time is the action peak.

By the end, the focus shifts to Rain and her friends' breakfast outing, where her newly unsealed Aspect, the power to grant Names, is revealed in the most delightfully mundane way possible: she is currently Sober and Well-Rested.

  • Shadow Slave: Weaver Played Snow, and the Volcano Pays in (Ch 2313-2333) Audiobook Episode 121
    Oct 14 2026

    Ep 121

Shadow Slave: Weaver Played Snow, and the Volcano Pays in (Ch 2313-2333) Audiobook Episode 121

I threw a jade figurine into a volcano, and the volcano answered with a vision of the end of the world. Suddenly I stood on a shattered plain of ice where lesser gods lay broken, watching a dying giant kneel in golden blood. And then Weaver appeared, masked and silent, and I understood something that changed everything. This game of Ariel's was never played by the Jade Queen. The Demon of Dread played Ash. And Snow was played by Weaver himself. They were playing for truths, and Weaver won.

That meant every slain figure on this board was a coin I could spend. Sacrifice a Snow Beast to the volcano, receive a secret of the dead gods in return. Twelve Snow Abominations still stand on those peaks, and I have a lifetime of questions.

But the Snow Domain would not wait for me to get comfortable. At dawn, a swarm of crystal wasps descended on my volcano, their wings focusing sunlight into beams that turned rock to lava. I held the gate of the Ash Castle as a four-armed Shadowspawn, Slayer and Kai shooting over my shoulders, until I finally remembered the lesson arrogance had made me forget. The slain wasps still entered my Soul Sea. My army of shades grew with every kill.

The wasps fled when dawn burned out, and two volcanoes fell to Snow. Somewhere out there, a clockwork giant and an endless worm are waiting, and beyond them, the Snow Tyrant. I have until dusk to forge Kai a bow worthy of a god-killer.

  • Shadow Slave: The Heir Of Weaver Must Never Be Loved (Ch 2256-2273) Audiobook Episode 118
    Oct 11 2026

    Episode 118

Sunny beheads Anvil, fakes his own betrayal of Nephis in front of two battered armies, and ends this stretch of Shadow Slave with a secret Dream Gate hiding under a siege capital. This is the fantasy LitRPG-style web novel delivered as an anime-style audiobook, and this episode covers the fall of the Sovereigns and everything that comes after. The confrontation with Anvil is the early highlight: before the execution, Sunny learns why Broken Sword had to die, that an heir of Weaver must never be known, loved, or worshiped, or the Forgotten God might wake. That revelation lands hard on a fateless man nobody can remember. Nephis gets her revenge arc payoff against Ki Song, and I loved her strange, childish outburst at the dying Queen, all that accumulated hurt finally spilling out. Then comes the twist I did not expect: Sunny donning Weaver's Mask to publicly 'betray' Changing Star so the Lord of Shadows can die a villain and vanish into obscurity. From there the episode slows into an epilogue volume, Sunny recounting it all to Eurys the skeleton, who casually claims he was a prince before he was a slave. We get the new world order, Neph's damning broadcast about the world being consumed, and genuinely chilling lore about Apotheosis and why Eurys insists Sunny can never become a Spirit. The final chapters widen the lens to Beth electrifying Bastion, Saintess Bliss crossbreeding scarlet jungle horrors with potatoes, and the Night Garden sailing through a Dream Gate to Earth. June's recruitment by the mysterious 'Witch' closes the episode on the reveal of an impossible Dream Gate buried underground.

  • Shadow Slave: The Dead Crawl From The Chasm (Ch 2195-2214) Audiobook Episode 115
    Oct 11 2026

    Episode 115

Ki Song finally stops holding back, and in Shadow Slave episode 115 the Godgrave war goes from siege to full apocalypse as an entire army of the dead crawls out of the chasm and two Sovereigns throw down on the bone plain. This is the fantasy LitRPG-ish web novel in anime audiobook form, and this stretch is basically the fuse burning down to the final battle. Early on, the horror is quiet and personal: Cassie walks out of the Queen's throne room as a partial puppet, her body moving on strings while her mind screams, and she can only hope Sunny reads her signal to stay away. I loved the Seishan chapter too, where Ki Song admits Nephis was marked for death simply for whose daughter she was, and reveals Cassie's True Name, Song of the Fallen, chosen so someone will remember the truth. Then the war erupts: pilgrims as a distraction, ash worms fusing into living bridges, Seishan holding a blade to Cassie's neck to force Nephis's retreat. Meanwhile Morgan dies over and over in Mordret's time loop, Gilead's expedition fails, Revel throws herself at a fleet, and finally Ki Song and Anvil trade farewells before a clash that cracks the dead god's bone itself, while Sunny quietly admits he cannot fail. The shadows across the Sword Army grow deep and cold, and that's where we leave it.

  • Shadow Slave: Cassie Becomes The Queen's Puppet (Ch 2174-2194) Audiobook Episode 114
    Oct 10 2026

    Episode 114

Cassie walks into the Song Domain in chains, drinks wine laced with Ki Song's blood, and becomes the Queen's literal puppet, and that is not even the biggest moment in this Shadow Slave episode. This stretch of the novel, delivered anime-style chapter by chapter, is where the war's endgame starts and the oldest secrets of the Sovereigns finally get spoken aloud. Early on, Cassie wipes Jest's memories, fakes her own death, and tells Sunny the news in one of my favorite beats, where he quietly mourns his cold tea while absorbing that the final war is now days away. Sunny and Nephis get a genuinely tender scene on the Ivory Island balcony, talking about what they will do if they survive, and it hurts precisely because the clock is running. A few chapters in, the heart of the episode arrives: Cassie kneels before Ki Song, who rules from a stone throne through puppeteered corpses, flawless and eerie. The Queen lays out the whole conspiracy, how Broken Sword's obsession with resurrecting Smile of Heaven led Anvil to kill him, how the Dreamspawn was stranded on the moon, and why child Nephis was hunted but never quite finished off. I loved how Cassie's own poison, turning Seishan and her sisters against their mother, runs underneath the entire conversation. By the end, Cassie trades real intelligence about Anvil's forces, and Ki Song's chilling smile, "that certainly changes things," tells you the board just shifted again.

  • Shadow Slave: A Perfect Copy of Anvil Waited in His Throne (Ch 2154-2173) Audiobook Episode 113
    Oct 10 2026

    Ep 113

Shadow Slave: A Perfect Copy of Anvil Waited in His Throne (Ch 2154-2173) Audiobook Episode 113

The real Anvil of Valor was asleep in his sarcophagus. I checked the vitals myself, the way Jest did, staring through the narrow window at a body whose soul was still supposed to be lost in the Second Nightmare. So when word came that Anvil had been found in the throne room of Bastion, I felt the same cold sweat Jest felt. If the man they found was not Anvil, then something had walked into the heart of humanity's greatest stronghold wearing his face.

I watched Jest test it. The copy used Anvil's Aspect, loathed flawed things the way Anvil did, remembered the small peculiarities only family would know. And it was warm, soft, almost kind, like the boy Anvil had been before the Spell taught him to bury his heart. Jest could not bring himself to kill it. Neither could I, in his place, with Warden's son maybe breathing inside that skin.

Then the true Anvil woke, tore free of his shattered pod as an Ascended, and when he heard a copy of himself existed, I saw what Jest saw. Terror. The first fear Anvil had ever shown.

The two of them fought, and the compound nearly died for it. The real Anvil stood, broken and bleeding, and whispered that it was over. But it was not. Gwyn was gone. And Asterion, the thing wearing human skin, was still out there, smiling, offering Anvil a deal to help him kill Broken Sword. That deal is still waiting to be struck.

  • Shadow Slave: The Key Was Inside The Tyrant (Ch 202-222) Audiobook Episode 14
    Oct 9 2026

    Episode 14

Sunny shoves his hand into a Fallen Tyrant's body for a glowing key, and a meter-long leech immediately starts draining him dry. That's the kind of gamble that defines this stretch of Shadow Slave, a dark fantasy anime-style audiobook of the novel, and it only gets more unhinged from there. I was hooked the second he pulled that key out and realized the real threat was already attached to his arm.

Early on, the escape from the Lord of the Dead's chamber is pure chaos, and the Corpse Eater leech nearly kills Sunny before Nephis burns it away. A few chapters in, the cohort finally leaves the Dark City behind, and I loved the quieter beats: Kai's awkward questions about the key, Effie's beach-day teasing, and that fireside talk where Nephis reveals her mother is one of the Hollow. It's a rare moment of vulnerability from her, and it hit harder than any monster fight.

By the end of this stretch, Sunny's dream of the dancing slave unlocks Shadow Dance, a battle art with seven Legacy Relics attached, and the group reaches the shattered bridge guarded by a colossal headless warrior. The nest-clearing fight is a brutal, coordinated assault, and Sunny's shadow finally feels like a true weapon. But Nephis is still hiding something about this expedition, and Sunny knows it.

    Ep 112

Shadow Slave: The Blind Seer Turned Predator (Ch 2134-2153) Audiobook Episode 112

Cassie gets lured into the deep jungle by Saint Jest, an assassin who wants her head, and she calmly turns to him and asks if this spot is far enough to die. That line sets the tone for this stretch of Shadow Slave, and it is a fantastic one. This is the fantasy LitRPG epic in anime audiobook form, and this episode belongs almost entirely to Cassie, which I loved because she has been quietly dangerous for so long and here she finally gets to show it. Jest's taunt Ability warping her emotions, turning Helie into a hate-fueled weapon, and Cassie countering with her future-sight and the returning Quiet Dancer made for one of the best duels in recent memory. Then she catches him in her eyes and drags us into his memories, and the episode shifts into something I did not expect: the origin of Jest himself. We see him as a nameless worker from the old regime, a "defective" Sleeper with no Memories, learning that killing humans makes him stronger, and then meeting the young knight who would become Warden of Valor. Their journey to conquer Bastion, the vermilion dragon that casts no reflection, and Warden's early fear of what unlimited personal power would do to the world gave me chills, because we know exactly what the Sovereigns became. By the end, the two of them find a settlement where a Governor treats mundane humans as cattle, and Warden's cold verdict, that they are not people, lands hard. Sunny and Nephis only bookend the episode, but her bringing him a home-cooked meal after he casually mentions killing a minor god was sweet and very funny.
