• Overcoming The Fear Of Judgement | The Let Them Theory Recovery Course Module 3
    Jan 27 2026

What if the spotlight you feel in recovery… isn’t real?

In early recovery, the fear of judgment can feel like carrying a heavy backpack everywhere you go. You replay conversations. You assume people are watching. You wonder what they’re thinking. And that pressure alone is enough to push people back toward old patterns.

In Module 3: Overcoming the Fear of Judgment, we unpack why shame feels so powerful in recovery—and how to stop letting other people’s opinions control your choices.

    This lesson breaks down:

-The Spotlight Effect and why it keeps people stuck

-How internal shame gets projected onto others

-Why it’s neurologically impossible to control what people think

-Mel Robbins’ truth that judgment exists no matter what you do

-How Let Them releases you from approval-seeking

-How Let Me helps you live in a way that builds self-respect

-Using the Frame of Reference to respond to family fear with compassion instead of defense

-Why making decisions to make others happy is a relapse risk

    -How consistency—not arguments—rebuilds trust

💭 Honest question: Where do you notice fear of judgment influencing your recovery choices right now?

This video is part of the FREE Let Them Theory Recovery Course, available inside the Sober Not Boring App, where you’ll also get:

    The downloadable Module 3 workbook

-Journaling prompts that help separate fear from facts

  • Managing Stress and the Physiology of Recovery | The Let Them Theory Recovery Course Module 2
    Jan 26 2026

Stress isn’t just annoying — it’s biological. And in recovery, that matters.

If you’ve ever snapped in traffic, lost it over a long line, or felt that familiar “I need to escape this feeling” urge after a stressful day… this module is for you.

In Module 2 of The Let Them Theory, we go beyond mindset and talk about what’s actually happening in your brain and body when stress hits — and why unmanaged stress is dangerous territory in recovery. This isn’t about “calming down” or “thinking positive.” This is about learning how to manually override your own nervous system when fight-or-flight takes over.

    In this lesson, you’ll learn:

Why stress hijacks your rational brain and shuts down good decision-making

How the amygdala and prefrontal cortex impact relapse risk

Why “I just need to take the edge off” is really a stress response

How Let Them acts as a mental brake

How Let Me uses your breath to reset your nervous system

Practical, real-world examples (traffic, planes, work stress, feeling undervalued)

A simple stress audit to find where your energy is leaking

💭 Question for you: What’s one situation lately where stress pushed you closer to impulsive thinking?

This video is part of the FREE Let Them Theory Course, available inside the Sober Not Boring App, where you’ll also get: The downloadable Module 2 handout & workbook

  • The Foundation: Surrender vs Action | The Let Them Theory Recovery Course Module 1
    Jan 26 2026

You got sober… so why are you still exhausted?

If you’ve ever felt worn out trying to manage people’s moods, fix family dynamics, control how you’re perceived, or hold everything together just to stay sober — this video is for you.

In Module 1: The Foundation, we unpack a hidden relapse trigger most people never talk about: control. Not substances. Control. This is the moment where recovery shifts from white-knuckling to actually building something sustainable.

In this video, I break down:

Why putting down the substance is only halftime

How control disguises itself as “responsibility” in recovery

Why trying to manage people creates stress, resentment, and relapse risk

How Let Them and Let Me work together as surrender + action

A simple “brake pedal” tool you can use when your chest tightens and your mind spirals

💭 Real question: What would your life look like if you stopped managing everyone else’s reactions to your recovery?

  • Join the Movement! Transforming Brain Health at the Black Men's Brain Health Conference
    Jan 25 2026

    🧠 This isn’t just a conference. It’s a bridge.

Healthy 2 Connections is heading to the Black Men’s Brain Health Conference in person — not to sit in the audience, but to bring back real data, real connections, and real solutions to our local community.

Black men face nearly double the risk of stroke, higher rates of misdiagnosis, and delayed Alzheimer’s detection. That’s not just a statistic — it’s a gap in access, research, and trust. This conference is where national researchers, advocates, and community leaders come together to change that, and we’re making sure Muskegon has a seat at the table.

📡 Can’t travel? Join us virtually — for FREE. Register for the virtual experience and be part of a national movement focused on brain health equity, prevention, research inclusion, and culturally grounded solutions. What we learn there comes straight back here — to youth programs, family education, recovery support, and senior brain health initiatives.

  • Smile At The Future | Proverbs 31
    Jan 2 2026

Smile at the Future – The Grand Finale (Proverbs 31) 😄👑

We made it! Day 31! In active addiction, we lived in dread. We were scared of the phone ringing. We were scared of the mail. We were terrified of tomorrow.

But Proverbs 31:25 (MSG) gives us the ultimate promise of recovery: "She smiles at the future."

Imagine living a life so clean and so solid that when you think about tomorrow, you don't shake—you smile. That is the goal.

Today, we close out the "Proverbs A Day" challenge with the final chapter.

    In this video, we cover:

✅ Identity Check: Why "Kings can’t afford to make fools of themselves gulping wine" and why alcohol is for the dying, not the living (v. 4-6).

✅ The Grind: Why recovery requires you to "roll up your sleeves" and get to work (v. 17).

✅ The Payoff: How to reach the point where you can finally look at tomorrow and smile (v. 25).

Thank you for walking this road with us for 31 days!

  • You Are Just Dirty Laundry | Proverbs 30
    Jan 2 2026

You Are Just Dirty Laundry – An Ego Check for Day 30 🧺😤

We get a little clean time, and suddenly we think we’re better than everyone else. We start judging the people who are still struggling. We think we’ve "arrived."

Proverbs 30:12 (MSG) serves us a slice of humble pie: "Don’t think you’re so high and mighty! You’re nothing but a lot of dirty laundry."

Recovery isn't about how great you are. It's about how merciful God is. You didn't clean yourself. You are just a pile of dirty laundry that got washed by Grace. Never look down on someone God is still working on.

Today on Day 30, we are reading Proverbs 30. We’re talking about the "Gimme" leech, the prayer of "enough," and why you need to clamp your hand over your mouth.

    In this video, we cover:

✅ The Sweet Spot: Why asking God for "neither poverty nor riches" is the smartest prayer an addict can pray (v. 8).

✅ The Leech: Meet the twin daughters named "Gimme" and "Gimme More"—the perfect picture of addiction (v. 15).

✅ Cause & Effect: Why "churning anger" always leads to a fight and why you need to shut your mouth (v. 33).

    Stay humble or stumble.

  • Why You Keep Stumbling | Proverbs 29
    Dec 30 2025

Why You Keep Stumbling – The Power of Vision (Proverbs 29) 👓🛑

You aren't clumsy. You're just blind. We wonder why we keep falling into the same holes, tripping over the same habits, and relapsing into the same mess.

Proverbs 29:18 (MSG) gives us the diagnosis: "If people can’t see what God is doing, they stumble all over themselves."

You don't stumble because the road is hard. You stumble because you aren't looking up. You have no vision. If you don't have a picture of a future worth staying sober for, you will always trip over your past.

Today on Day 29, we are walking through Proverbs 29. We’re talking about the danger of stubbornness, emotional control, and the necessity of vision.

    In this video, we cover:

✅ The Breaking Point: Why people who "hate discipline" eventually break beyond repair—and why it happens suddenly (v. 1).

✅ Venting is for Fools: Why "letting it all hang out" isn't brave, it's foolish. Wise people settle it down (v. 11).

✅ The Vision Cure: Why the only way to stop stumbling is to see what God is doing in your life (v. 18).

Stop looking at your feet and start looking at the horizon.

  • You Can't Whitewash The Dirt | Proverbs 28
    Dec 29 2025

You Can't Whitewash The Dirt – Why Secrets Keep Us Sick (Proverbs 28) 🎨🚫

We tried to cover it up. We tried to look good on the outside while we were rotting on the inside. We thought if we just painted over the mess, nobody would notice.

But Proverbs 28:13 (MSG) gives us the hard truth: "You can’t whitewash your sins and get by with it; you find mercy by admitting and leaving them."

"Whitewashing" is just painting over the dirt. It looks clean for a minute, but the mold is still growing underneath. To get well, you have to stop painting and start confessing. You have to admit it to quit it.

Today on Day 28, we are walking through Proverbs 28. We’re talking about the paranoia of guilt and the freedom of honesty.

    In this video, we cover:

✅ The Rearview Mirror: Why "the wicked run even when no one is chasing" and how to finally stop living in fear (v. 1).

✅ The Whitewash Trap: Why hiding your secrets prevents you from finding mercy (v. 13).

✅ The Fool in the Mirror: Why trusting your own "know-it-all" brain is a guaranteed way to fail (v. 26).

If you are tired of carrying the bucket of paint, put it down and get free.
