• Episode 161 UCL Arsenal 3 - 0 Lille; EPL Forest Preview
    Oct 16 2026

    Thank you for tuning in!

Somehow, as we’re all trying to sort ourselves and decide how we’ll feel and what we’ll do if Manchester City Cheaters Club get punished what we think is enough, or not. Meanwhile, their manager is out there saying ‘I know nothing.’ If you’re of a certain age, you’ll remember Shultz saying that on Hogan’s Heroes. I think I recall it being highly sarcastic, and that he knew everything but didn’t want to get in trouble or be responsible for not being a tattletale. Feels a little like that with Enzo Maresca. Enough talk about the lying cheating blues. If you haven’t checked out my full analysis of what punishment should look like, you’ll find it in Punished: The Sentence Manchester City Deserves.

On this episode, Eric and Matt cover Arsenal’s Champions League match against Lille. Three really lovely goals and who started the goal scoring? None other than defender Jurrien Timber and his magical right foot. We discuss Saka’s key contribution off the bench. There is a quick rundown of the crazy results in the Champions League. We preview the Nottingham Forest match and the challenges they present. Make sure to listen to the end for the 3 quick things and the big number reveal.

    Better, Not good enough

In this episode of the Arsenal Women’s podcast presented by Stateside Gooners, Matt talks about Arsenal’s WSL Match Day 5 against the defending WSL champions Manchester City. Matt spends time re-capping the scores of the rest of the WSL for Match Day 5. Then he dives into the encouraging initial 60 minutes put together by Arsenal. What happened for the rest of the match, nothing good. Matt recaps the first block of games talking about the positives and the negatives. Unfortunately there were more negatives than positives in this first block. Too many ties. Matt runs through the dates for the next block of games highlighting a particularly nasty patch of games Barca - London City - Lyon, oof.

  • S3E160 Arsenal 2 - 1 Leeds; EPL Match Week 6
    Oct 13 2026

    Thank you for tuning in!

On this episode, Kevin and Matt recap Arsenal’s victory over Leeds in Match Week 6 of the EPL before previewing the Champions League Week 2 game against Lille.

The first 55 minutes of the Leeds game were unworthy of our deepest analysis so we go through it kinda quickly. But we give our full attention spend to the last 35 minutes and extra time because those were exciting!

Lille bring Olivier Giroud, our beloved goal scorer, back to the Emirates to face his former club. Is there anyone expecting anything but a warm welcome? Other than that time in Baku, he’s always been one of our favorites.

We have some fun with Three quick things and end things with this episode’s big number reveal - what is 48 and why does it matter?

This episode’s three quick things ends with a look at the poor start of the Arsenal Women’s season and examines if Coach Slegers can survive.

  • S3WE32 Paris FC 2 - 2 Arsenal: CL Match Day 2
    Oct 3 2026

Not a Penalty, it just isn’t

In this episode of the Arsenal Women’s podcast presented by Stateside Gooners, Matt talks about Arsenal’s CL Match Day 2 against Paris FC. Time is spent discussing opinions about the controversial penalty decision that gifted Paris FC with a goal and ultimately with the draw and 1 point in the Champions League group phase. Arsenal showed improvement in this match. I talk about Sleegers sending out the assistant to do the post match presser and why she did that. I also catch you up on the rest of the results from Match Day 2 in the Women’s Champions League. There is also the matter of previewing Sunday’s match against defending WSL champion Manchester City.

    Sep 30 2026

5 points, 4 games, another slow start to a season

In this episode of the Arsenal Women’s podcast presented by Stateside Gooners, Matt talks about Arsenal’s WSL Match Day 4 against Chelsea and all the blocked shots, this time the number was 12. The match was really entertaining for the neutrals, but I’m not a neutral, so I was ultimately disappointed with the result. I also catch you up on the rest of the results from Match Day 4 in the WSL. I also have a quick preview of the next match, Champions League match day 2 against a dangerous (and maybe familiar) Paris FC club.

  • 114 Guilty. Now What?
    Sep 28 2026

    Thank you for tuning in!

After three and a half years of waiting, the verdict is reportedly in: Manchester City found guilty on 114 of 115 Premier League charges. Misreported finances, hidden payments to players and managers, broken spending rules at home and in Europe, and 35 counts of refusing to cooperate with the investigation. Nine seasons. Three league titles. One very expensive legal team.

So what happens next? Everything is on the table, and we mean everything.

The other 19 owners have watched City lift trophies for a decade, and they aren’t going to let the league go soft. Clubs could sue for damages. Players who lost titles, bonuses and Champions League money could too.

Could it become one giant class action with every club and every player lining up?

    Don’t rule it out.

Then there’s the punishment. How big a points deduction? 60? 600? A forced sale? A ban on selling, leaving the owners stuck with a club that can’t earn? The NBA forced Donald Sterling to sell the Clippers, and the Kroenkes were on the owners’ side of that table. Juventus got relegated (one division, we got this one wrong) and stripped of titles. Rangers started over, four divisions down. (That’s who we were thinking of.) Lance Armstrong lost seven Tour de France titles and nobody got promoted into them. Does City’s trophy cabinet get emptied the same way? And what does it all mean for Pep Guardiola’s legacy?

Here’s a question nobody is asking: if the Premier League relegates City, does the Championship have to take them?

Or could the EFL simply say no thanks?

It’s all unprecedented. The timelines say we should know soon, but the timelines have been wrong every step of the way. And honestly? We’ll take effective over efficient. If getting it right takes longer, and it means the verdict can’t be flipped on appeal, we’ll wait. What we don’t want is a fast resolution that ends in a slap on the wrist.

Pull up a chair. Stateside Gooners break down the biggest scandal in Premier League history.

    Sep 27 2026

Three points is three points, take ‘em

In this episode of the Arsenal Women’s podcast presented by Stateside Gooners, Matt talks about Arsenal’s opening match in the CL against HB Koge. The season has opened with frustrating results would this pattern continue in this match? Arsenal made 8 changes to the lineup; would they help? Finally, Matt talks about his thoughts on how to attack a low block.
