We're back! It's probably been a couple of weeks since you last heard us in episode 12. For us, (Hannah & Gina) it's been....84 years! Well, a couple of months. So buckle up for a meaty catch-up and an episode for which we're happily taking the crowns for professional natterers. We finally won an award Roo! (Listen to episode 9 to understand this reference).

This episode covers our thoughts on how we as wedding suppliers could be backing up each other a little more, showing your appreciation for suppliers you love tactfully, camera issues, instax 360 and *those* dressing gowns that we adore.

Although studying film making at university, Roo's career didn't start in wedding videography, and he talks through how he blagged his first job, right up to shooting his first paid video gig in 2018. Roo shares more about his approach to videography as well as the benefits of building a community within the industry.

This week they dig into the process of couple portraits on a wedding day, how they feel about portraits and how they approach them. They also thrash out the benefits of the complementary pre-wedding shoot and whether site venues are really necessary and how returning to a venue can affect creativity, as well as how to get out of holes when creativity isn't flowing!

Once you've filled in the application form for 'The Voice' on Gina's behalf, listen to Hannah & Gina discuss how they've been spending their 'downtime'. Using this time of year to reflect, they take a look at why wedding photographers (themselves included!) do the things they do in their business - things that seem to be unwritten rules and industry standards. They look at gifting, outsourcing, photo/film delivery times, becoming educators and begin to wonder, does there need to be this uniformity when running a wedding business? If you're self-employed, don't you get to write the rules? It certainly gets them thinking and they hope it gets your noodle twitching.

And of course, there are some great podcast recommendations to listen to whilst you tackle your winter editing (once you've listened to Take Two, of course!).
