  • Episode 20 - From Trauma Loops to Feeling Safe in the Body with Orla O’Flaherty
    May 19 2026

In this episode I am joined by Orla O’Flaherty, naturopath, herbalist, nutritionist and somatic embodiment facilitator.

We talk about her personal journey starting with a misdiagnosis of clinical depression at 13, which later turned out to be a thyroid dysfunction that was missed at the time. From there, Orla shares her experience navigating mental health, self-harm, an eating disorder, and how this shaped her understanding of the connection between trauma, the nervous system, and the body.

We explore shame, relapse, emotional patterns, and what it really means to do the work beyond intellectual understanding. Orla also breaks down somatic therapy, nervous system responses, and how stress and emotional cycles can show up physically in the body.

If you would like to connect with Orla further or enquire about her work you can find her at https://www.instagram.com/orla_naturopath_herbalist/

  • Episode 19 - Life Chats with John Stack - When life forces you to grow
    Apr 8 2026

In Episode 19 of The DMC podcast I am joined by a dear friend John Stack.

These episodes constantly remind me of the power of deep conversations and this one is no different.

John and I talk about how much we’ve both changed over the years, the realities of growing up in small town Ireland where emotional expression wasn’t always encouraged, and how life has a way of pushing you into the growth you didn’t even know you needed.

John opens up about a really difficult period in his life after suffering multiple concussions, the anxiety that followed, and what it was like to feel like everything just stopped overnight. We speak honestly about mental health, the importance of speaking up, and how the right people around you can quite literally change everything.

We also dive into the power of routine, consistency, and learning what actually serves you (and what doesn’t). There’s a lot in here about self-awareness, doing the work, and how growth isn’t always linear.

John shares his journey from Ireland to the US and now Australia, the lessons he’s learned along the way, and how those experiences have led him to create his own business, Off Peak, something built from lived experience in his career and a genuine desire to give back.

This episode is about resilience, perspective, and keeping going even when things feel heavy. It’s about friendship, vulnerability, and the conversations that remind you you’re not alone.

If you’re going through something, feeling stuck, or just needing a reminder that things can shift this one’s for you.

Please show John some love on his new business venture https://www.instagram.com/offpeak.au/

And as always if you would like to connect with me further you can find me at https://www.instagram.com/jw.healing/

  • Episode 18 - My Experience with Miscarriage
    Mar 8 2026

In this episode, I share a raw honest conversation about my experience with miscarriage.

It has been reported that 1 in 4 women, will experience miscarriage and sadly this is not something that I was aware of. More and more I am realizing that these figures are inaccurate and that in fact, miscarriage happens more than we care to admit. So why are we not having more conversations around this topic?

I will always be an advocate that you should do what feels right for you, but please know that you should not feel shamed, or silence when it comes to experiencing this kind of loss.

It doesn't matter how far along you were when you experienced loss it is hugely significant and it should not be suppressed.

Today I want to highlight the importance of not facing this alone. It is too big too carry by yourself so lean on those around you.

This is my story and it is important to highlight that we each have different experiences of loss, but in listening to my journey I hope that you feel a little less alone.

If this episode brought up anything difficult for you, please know you are not alone. Miscarriage and pregnancy loss can be deeply painful experiences, and support is available.

If you feel that listening to this conversation has stirred something in you, reaching out to someone you trust or to a support service can help. Speaking with people who understand pregnancy loss can make a difference during a time that can feel incredibly isolating.
