• Ep 10: Demons, Patterns and Power: Tina Djuretic on Reclaiming Your Life
    Jan 7 2026

This week, host Camisha Blackburn sits down for a deeply honest and transformative conversation with author and writer of Finding My Sovereignty, Tina Djuretic. In this candid episode, they explore the shadowy world of family cults, the lasting impact of severe isolation, and the profound spiritual and psychological work required to break the line of generational trauma.

This conversation covers the beautiful, messy, and rooted reality of reclaiming your self-worth after a toxic relationship, offering listeners profound insights and actionable wisdom for their own healing journey.

Listen in as Camisha and Tina reveal:

    • The Cult’s Shadow: Tina’s transition from a free-spirited child to a life of extreme isolation and "fear-mongering" within a fanatical religious environment.

    • The Mirror of Addiction: How the patterns of control and manipulation learned in childhood drew Tina into a seven-year relationship with an addict—and why she felt responsible for "saving" him.

    • The Exorcism Aftermath: The lasting psychological impact of witnessing an exorcism at age 12 and the realization that fear creates a low-vibration "target" for darkness.

    • Somatic Trauma Release: A fascinating discussion on how suppressed childhood trauma manifested as chronic, debilitating back pain that only cleared through spiritual and energy work.

    • The Pattern Pivot: Why the problem isn't just the partner, but the subconscious patterns that make toxic dynamics feel "comfortable" and familiar.

    • Iron-Clad Boundaries: Tina’s journey of "un-learning" the peacekeeper mantra to stand in her own sovereignty and self-worth.

    • This episode is a testament to the power of personal accountability, the strength found in solitude, and the belief that you have the power to "clean up" your vessel and provide safety for your inner child.

      Key Takeaways from This Episode:

    • Observing vs. Feeling: How empaths can regain control by choosing to "switch from feeling to observing," ensuring they don't carry others' pain as their own.

    • The Self-Forgiveness First Rule: True healing begins when you forgive yourself for the patterns you repeated before you can even begin to forgive those who harmed you.

    • Healing the Vessel: Understanding that your body holds onto trauma like a physical injury, requiring intentional work to release the "tentacles" of the past.

  • Ep 9: The Chameleon’s Game: Healing from Covert Narcissism and Toxic Relationships with Kasia Dodd
    Dec 31 2025
This week, host Camisha Blackburn sits down for a deeply honest and transformative conversation with clinical psychologist, theologian, and author Kasia Dodd. In this candid episode, they explore the shadowy world of "Chameleons"—covert narcissists who mirror your identity to trap you in a cycle of drama—and the profound spiritual and psychological work required to break the line of generational trauma. This conversation covers the beautiful, messy, and rooted reality of reclaiming your self-worth after a toxic relationship, offering listeners profound insights and actionable somatic wisdom for their own healing journey.Listen in as Camisha and Kasia reveal:The Chameleon’s Lure: How covert narcissists use "mirroring" to make you feel like you’ve met your soulmate, only to pivot toward a 180-degree shift of blame and victimhood. The Intelligence Trap: Why being "too smart" or highly educated (even as a therapist) doesn’t protect you from the subconscious patterns that draw you into toxic dynamics.Generational Strings: Kasia’s powerful discovery of the link between her grandmother’s narcissism and her own relationship, and the mission to "finish the line" of inherited trauma. The Inner Parent Theory: A revolutionary shift from the "Inner Child" concept—understanding that your core self isn't broken, but your "Inner Parent" structure may need to be rebuilt to provide safety and boundaries.Somatic Healing Tools: A frank discussion on the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) and the Inherence Process as a way to process intense trauma on the spot.Bio-Individuality in Relationships: How your personal history and energy field dictate your healing process and why your journey to peace is uniquely yours. This episode is a testament to the power of personal accountability, the strength found in "un-learning," and the belief that your core self is always perfectly whole, just waiting for a healthy Inner Parent to guide it home.Key Takeaways from This Episode:Awareness vs. Experience: Intellectual knowledge of narcissism is different from the deep, somatic experience of breaking a toxic pattern. The Power of the Inner Parent: Healing is less about fixing a "wounded child" and more about turning your "Inner Parent" away from external people-pleasing and back toward your own soul.Ending the Cycle: You have the power to be the "end of the line" for generational trauma through intentional, deep-field work.Connect with The Raw & Rooted Life Podcast:Follow Camisha on Social Media: InstagramSubscribe to the Podcast: Don't miss future episodes on holistic health, deep healing, alternative wellness, nervous system regulation, and cultivating self-worth!Support the Show on Patreon: Join our community on Patreon to help keep this podcast running and get exclusive access to my personal journey! • Ep 5: How I Ditched the Scale, Faced Body Trauma, and Found Natural
    Dec 3 2025

Welcome to the FIFTH EPISODE of The Raw & Rooted Life Podcast. In Episode 5, I’m taking you on my full, unfiltered physical health journey—a transformation from a place of deep neglect and shame to one of intuitive movement and body trust. If you've ever felt trapped by diet culture, frustrated by the scale, or carried the weight of past trauma, this episode is your anchor.

I open up about the roots of my negative body image, starting with the painful experience of being bullied in middle school and being called the devastating nickname, "obeisha." That early trauma cemented a toxic relationship with food and my body that persisted for decades. I share how this manifested during my years of drug use, where I neglected my physical self entirely—eating like crap, never moving, and treating my body like a disposable vessel.

In late 2021, I started making serious changes: stopping birth control cold turkey, beginning cycle syncing, and integrating mindful eating. Yet, my progress stalled. Why? Because my primary goal was still the toxic, external one: losing weight. I dive into why focusing purely on the number on the scale is often a recipe for frustration and failure. We discuss how this hyper-focus on weight loss triggers stress and chronic resistance in the body.

The pivotal shift came in late 2023 when I finally let go of the punishing mentality. I stopped asking, "How can I shrink myself?" and started asking, "How can I make my body feel safe, strong, and nourished today?" This change to intuitive movement and prioritizing sensation over restriction was the key that unlocked natural weight loss and lasting peace.

I discuss how my current, sustainable routine now looks: yoga and Pilates at home, strategically integrating strength exercises during the follicular, ovulation, and early luteal phases. This hormone-smart approach helps me honor my body’s fluctuating energy and cycles instead of fighting against them.

This isn't just my story—it's backed by science. We touch upon the research linking childhood weight stigma to long-term health issues and why intuitive movement is scientifically associated with improved body image, reduced anxiety, and better emotional functioning—outperforming rigid diets every time.

The most crucial takeaway of this episode: You cannot punish your way into a healthy, happy body. Your body responds to respect, not restriction.

If you are struggling with body image trauma, cycle syncing, finding sustainable fitness, or transitioning away from diet culture, this episode is for you.
