About this listen

Sacred Reclamation is a community of conscious creators, and the podcast is a collection and celebration of our stories. These conversations serve as medicine and guidance as we each play our unique part in weaving this collective web together. Here, we will explore how we can and how we already are reclaiming the sacredness of birth, life, death, and all the happenings in between. Here, we are reclaiming the art of storytelling. May we relate and see ourselves in each individual's unique story, and may we be reminded of our interconnectedness as sentient beings. May it be so.Sydni Sands Self-Help Success

Mackenzie Carmichael is an Ayurvedic practitioner living in the mountains near Denver, Colorado. In this episode, Mackenzie and I explore themes around healing, rooted in deep self-discovery, reverence, and connection. Mackenzie tells us about how she is practicing being with her inner child as an adult woman and allowing all of herself to be present all of the time. She shares some of her Ayurvedic wisdom with us as we discuss the importance of self-care and morning rituals. We share the same sentiment that being well must include the practice of attuning to and communicating with our bodies and the Earth. Enjoy the episode and don’t forget to share it with a loved one!!

This is my most vulnerable story. I chose to share it here in this way because both me and the story are ready and willing to share. Our stories are our offerings to this world and each other. Like Aisha Badru sings in her song Rooted, "Your story is your offering. You are here for a reason." Maybe someone will see themselves in a piece of my story and they'll feel less alone. Maybe you can't relate, but it sparks compassion in your heart. Or maybe it inspires you to share your story too.It is healing to tell our stories, to loosen our grasp on the hardest things we've been through, and to accept the knowing that we are not alone. It is medicine for the storyteller and the story receiver. May you find medicine in my story, and may you join me in believing in something better. Peace & Love.

Today on the show, we have Dariya Koncz from Finding Polaris. Finding Polaris is a wilderness skills and rites of passage non-profit located in northern Ontario. In this episode, Dariya and I discuss the importance of living a self-directed life, experiencing rites of passage, and nurturing our connection with nature. Dariya tells us what it's actually like living off-grid, a way of life that is often over-romanticized, although she does admit it most certainly comes with romantic moments! We talk about the simplicity found in a healthy lifestyle and how we ourselves are bodies of water. Dariya is a true gem, and this episode is so special. Enjoy and SHARE THIS WITH SOMEONE YOU LOVE!
