Season 2 Is Here: Welcome back to the Sober Chapters Podcast.

After nearly a year away from the microphone, Didi returns to kick off Season 2 with a deeply personal episode reflecting on everything that has unfolded since the last season.

Joining her in this episode is her fiancé Pete, who interviews Didi about the incredible journey sobriety has taken her on over the past year — from meeting the love of her life to writing her first book and building a growing alcohol-free community.

Together they explore how removing alcohol doesn’t shrink your life — it expands it in every possible way.

In this episode, Didi shares the deeper philosophy behind Sober Chapters, the concept of intentionally removing alcohol for a period of time (a minimum of a year) to focus on personal & spiritual growth, healing, and transformation.

She also opens up about a recent encounter where someone told her sobriety “sounds boring,” and why that moment reminded her of how challenging it can be when you're starting out on this journey. Didi and Pete reflect on this and share tips and support to those of you lacking confidence in navigating these kind of comments,

If you’re sober curious, starting your alcohol-free journey, or wondering what life could look like without alcohol, this episode is the perfect place to begin.

In This Episode Didi and Pete discuss:

    • Why the Sober Chapters podcast took a break
    • How sobriety led Didi to meeting her fiancé Pete
    • The decision to have a sober wedding
    • Building alcohol-free community through mocktail parties
    • Facing fears through public speaking and dance lessons
    • The emotional journey of writing the Sober Chapters book
    • The comment that made Didi reflect on how much her life has changed
    • Why confidence in sobriety grows over time
    • How alcohol often keeps us stuck in patterns
    • What a Sober Chapter really means

    What Is a Sober Chapter?

A Sober Chapter is an intentional period of time where you remove alcohol and go all in on yourself.

It’s a space free from the distraction of drinking and hangovers where you can focus on:

    • Personal growth
    • Healing old patterns
    • Building confidence
    • Facing fears
    • Creating the life you truly want

Didi recommends committing to at least one year, allowing you to fully experience what life can become when alcohol is no longer holding you back.

    ⚠️ Trigger Warning:

This episode contains sensitive content including the loss of a family member to suicide. Please listen with care, and seek support if you are in a vulnerable place.

In this soul-stirring episode of the Sober Chapters podcast, host Didi Jordan is joined by Branwen Walker, an intensive care nurse who shares her powerful and deeply personal journey through grief, sobriety, and spiritual transformation. After losing her father to suicide, Branwen turned to alcohol as a coping mechanism. Though she led what many would consider a healthy lifestyle, alcohol had quietly become a destructive force that amplified her emotional pain.

Everything changed one day in a pharmacy queue. As she waited for antidepressants, a poster about alcohol's impact on mental health caught her attention and sparked a realisation. That moment led to a courageous decision to remove alcohol from her life and begin a journey of healing from the inside out.

Now eight months sober and having recently completed the Sober Chapters 100 program, Branwen reflects on what it means to truly feel again. Without alcohol numbing her emotions, she discovered the raw beauty of presence, the ability to experience life fully, including its grief, joy, uncertainty, and hope. Her story offers a powerful reminder that sobriety isn’t about losing out; it’s about gaining clarity, peace, and a renewed sense of purpose.

Branwen speaks openly about navigating social events like weddings and hen parties while staying alcohol-free, and how each challenge strengthened her confidence. She also shares the profound spiritual reconnection she experienced in sobriety, describing how nature, stillness, and self-trust began to guide her in new ways. Her mantra, “anything that falls away is meant to,” speaks to the deep inner shifts that occur when we prioritize our well-being and let go of what no longer serves us.

Now training to become an alcohol-free coach herself, Branwen is using her story to help others heal and feel less alone. Her path is a testament to how our personal healing can become our greatest gift to others.

What happens when you explore the heart of England—its historic pubs, family homes, and cobblestone streets without a drop of alcohol? In this deeply honest episode, host Didi Jordan is joined by her partner Pete as they travel together through England completely sober.

Together, they share how navigating British pub culture, family reunions, and memories of a difficult past became a powerful journey of connection, clarity, and healing. For Pete, it’s a cultural immersion from Canada into the pub-centric traditions of England; for Didi it’s a return to her roots, facing old wounds and rewriting her story from a grounded, alcohol-free perspective.

The two reflect on what it means to build a romantic relationship without alcohol, how sobriety helps maintain clear emotional boundaries, and how deeply healing it can be to meet your past with presence rather than numbing. With non-alcoholic IPAs on tap and a growing cultural shift toward mindful drinking, they also highlight how sober travel is becoming more accessible than ever.

Whether you’re new to sobriety or already walking your alcohol-free path, this episode offers inspiration for how travel can become a portal for personal growth, spiritual insight, and relationship transformation.

    You’ll Hear About:

    • How pub culture reflects deep-rooted social structures in the UK
    • Introducing a sober partner to a wine-loving parent
    • Visiting emotionally charged places from the past, without numbing
    • Sobriety’s role in improving relationship communication & polarity
    • Building confidence in your alcohol-free identity while traveling
    • Tips for starting your sober travel journey gradually and joyfully
