Hosted by Andy Griffiths, Iona Russell, Ian Young, and Ann Stewart from Piece of Mind Therapy & Mental Health Training, the podcast explores the messy, emotional, funny, and deeply human parts of life that most people quietly struggle with. From anxiety, burnout, relationships, and people pleasing… to identity, healing, self doubt, and figuring out who you actually are beneath the noise nothing is off limits. Some episodes are reflective. Some are hilarious. Some hit harder than expected. But every conversation is real, unscripted, and grounded in lived experience, professional insight, and genuine curiosity about why we think, feel, and behave the way we do. Whether you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, lost, healing, or just trying to make sense of life, Tickety Boo is a reminder that you're not the only one figuring it out as you go. 🎧 New episodes every week on Spotify, Apple Podcasts & YouTube.Tickety Boo 2020 Alternative & Complementary Medicine Hygiene & Healthy Living Psychology Psychology & Mental Health

  • 130 - Things I Used to Care About… Until I Realised They Don't Matter
    Oct 12 2026

What did you once spend ridiculous amounts of time worrying about that you genuinely couldn't care less about now?

    Being liked.

    Looking stupid.

Having the right clothes, the right car, the right answers.

What other people thought of you.

And when did you finally realise that perhaps none of it mattered quite as much as you thought?

In this episode of Tickety Boo, Andy, Ann, Ian and Iona explore the things we've gradually stopped giving a shit about.

And no, we're not talking about becoming miserable, cynical or completely indifferent to the world.

    Quite the opposite.

We're talking about the freedom that comes from realising you don't have to spend your life worrying about everything and everyone.

Why do we waste so much energy trying to fit in?

Why does someone else's opinion sometimes matter more than our own?

And what changes as we get older, gain experience and begin to recognise what's genuinely worth our time?

We reflect on the things we once obsessed over, the expectations we've quietly let go of and the moments when we realised we didn't actually have to keep playing by rules we'd never agreed to in the first place.

Because there's a big difference between not caring about anything and being more selective about what you care about.

Perhaps growing older isn't just about gaining wisdom.

Maybe it's about discovering that your time, energy and peace of mind are far too valuable to waste on things that never really mattered.

And here's a question worth taking away from this episode:

What's something you're still worrying about today that, five years from now, you might wish you'd stopped caring about sooner?

Sometimes personal growth isn't about adding more to your life.

It's about finally giving yourself permission to put a few things down.

  • 129 - You Got Through It. But Are You Okay?
    Oct 5 2026

When something difficult happens, most of us don't stop to process it.

We deal with what's in front of us.

We make the phone calls. Sort out the practical stuff. Look after everyone else. Go back to work. Keep the house running.

    And somehow, we keep going.

But getting through something and being okay afterwards aren't necessarily the same thing.

In this episode of Tickety Boo, we talk about what happens when life doesn't really give you time to fall apart.

Why are humans so good at putting things into a box marked "deal with that later"?

What happens when later never comes?

And how can something we thought we'd dealt with quietly show up months — or even years — afterwards?

We explore the difference between coping and processing, why being able to function doesn't always mean we're fine, and how sometimes the impact of a difficult experience only becomes apparent once everything around us has finally gone quiet.

There's also something important here about resilience.

We often celebrate the person who kept going.

    The one who stayed strong.

The one who held everything together.

But perhaps we don't ask often enough what holding everything together actually cost them.

This isn't about digging up everything difficult that's ever happened to you or assuming every experience needs fixing.

It's simply about occasionally checking in with yourself after the storm has passed.

    Yes, you got through it.

    But how are you now?

Sometimes that's a completely different question.

  • 128 - Why Can't We Just Be Bored Anymore?
    Sep 28 2026

When was the last time you were truly bored?

Not watching Netflix while scrolling through your phone.

Not listening to a podcast while driving.

Not checking emails while waiting for someone.

    Actually bored.

Nothing to do. Nothing to watch. Nothing to listen to.

    Just you and your thoughts.

In this episode of Tickety Boo, we're asking whether we're slowly losing our ability to do absolutely nothing.

We talk about how quickly we reach for our phones the moment there's an empty space in our day, why silence can feel strangely uncomfortable, and whether our constant need for stimulation is changing our relationship with our own thoughts.

Because boredom used to be a normal part of life.

    You waited for buses.

    You stood in queues.

You stared out of car windows.

You sat in waiting rooms and just… waited.

Now we've got an entire world of entertainment sitting in our pockets, ready to fill every spare 30 seconds.

And while that sounds brilliant, have we lost something along the way?

We explore boredom, smartphones, social media, overstimulation and why allowing your mind to wander might actually be more important than we realise.

What happens when we stop filling every quiet moment?

Where do our thoughts go when we give them space?

And perhaps the slightly uncomfortable question:

Are we actually bored… or have we just become uncomfortable being alone with ourselves?

As usual, we don't have all the answers.

But maybe after listening to this episode, you'll resist reaching for your phone the next time you've got five minutes with absolutely nothing to do.

    Or you'll immediately open TikTok.

    We're not judging.
