Jesus begins by addressing 2 disasters right there in His own area - one man-made and the other a natural disaster. He takes a head-on look at the erroneous assumption that “Good things happen to good people - and Bad things happen to bad people.” From there He launched into this story all about a fig tree - and the consequences of being unfruitful.
