My name is Naomi, and in this interview I share my full testimony of redemption, how what the enemy intended for evil, God used for good. I grew up in what looked like an idyllic Christian home, the oldest of nine children, homeschooled, memorizing scripture with my family every day. But at 12 years old, a confusing conversation with my father over a girl's crush on me turned into what I now recognize as a word curse, and it set off years of same-sex relationships I never expected for my life, including one relationship so consuming it left me physically wasting away.

I walk through the night everything changed, when I had to choose between staying in that relationship and taking up my cross to follow Christ, and how untangling myself from it wasn't instant, it took months of physically, emotionally, and spiritually separating. I share the moment I truly encountered the Holy Spirit in a guest home in Studio City, saw a vision of Jesus on the cross, and had to learn not only to forgive myself but to forgive my father. From there I talk about getting married at last, years of infertility and miscarriages, and having two daughters through what I can only call miracles, one at 40 and one at 46.

The second half of this conversation shifts into the ministry I'm part of now, including the "Don't Mess With Our Kids" movement that started in Peru and is now mobilizing across US cities, and why I believe so strongly that Christians have a responsibility to vote, especially on the issue of life. I close in prayer for America and for anyone still trapped in the same bondage I once lived in. If you know someone walking through what I walked through, or a parent who needs hope for their child, I pray this testimony reaches them.

I sat down again with Becket Cook, and this conversation went places I didn't expect. He walks us through what it actually looked like to leave his old life behind in the middle of Hollywood, telling A-list friends and colleagues about Jesus on movie sets, at the opera, even during a UGG campaign shoot with the client staring right at him. Some of those friends were shaken, some were cold, and one asked the strangest possible follow-up question. Through all of it, Becket never backed down, and it's a powerful picture of what boldness in your true identity actually costs, and what it gives back.

We also get into the calling that took him from a fashion brand he built out of nothing straight into seminary, and how that theological training ended up reshaping the book he'd already started writing. From there we talk honestly about where the church is failing right now on sexuality and truth, why so many pastors stay silent while culture disciples their congregations instead, and what it actually looks like to preach the whole counsel of God with courage.

The most emotional part of this episode is the story behind Becket's upcoming second book, A Mother's Prayer for Her Gay Son. Years after she'd passed away, he discovered a typed prayer his mother had written for him decades earlier, twenty-four specific prayer points he never knew existed. One of them connects directly to a terrifying moment in his past involving an HIV test, and hearing how those two threads line up will stay with you. If you're a parent, sibling, or friend of someone walking through this, or if you just want to see what God can redeem, this episode is for you.

Welcome back to Trusted Voice! Today I'm sitting down with my new friend @BecketCook , a former Hollywood production designer who lived in the gay lifestyle for 15 years before an unforgettable, dramatic encounter with Jesus changed everything. Becket opens up about something he's never shared publicly before: being molested by a friend's father at just nine years old, and how that single traumatic night set him on a path he never chose. We talk about growing up the youngest of eight kids in a Catholic-Charismatic household, the double life he led in high school, and how a broken childhood opened a door the enemy was all too ready to walk through.

Becket takes us from Dallas nightclubs and a secret relationship in Tokyo to the heights of Hollywood glamour, where he found himself on set with Nicole Kidman, attending after-parties for the Oscars and Emmys, and watching close friends like Minnie Driver and Lisa Loeb become overnight stars. But underneath the glitz, something wasn't sitting right. We get into the exact moment at Paris Fashion Week when a wave of emptiness hit him out of nowhere, and how six months later, of all places, five Bibles sitting on a coffee shop table in Los Angeles set the stage for the most radical encounter of his life.

What happened the first Sunday Becket ever walked into an evangelical church is nothing short of a modern-day road to Damascus, and I get to ask him about every detail. We talk about his parents' surprising grace-filled response to his coming out, God's perfect timing in preparing his heart, and his book, A Change of Affection, which chronicles his whole incredible story of redemption. If you or someone you love needs to hear that no one is too far gone for God to reach, this episode is for you. Thank you for watching, liking, subscribing, and sharing Trusted Voice with someone who needs this testimony today.
