• God, Grit & Testosterone: Building a Maxed Out Life
    Feb 17 2026
Episode Description In this episode of Unleash the Ultimate You: Change Your Mindset, Change Your Body, I sit down with Kevin Davis, founder of Maxed Out Man, to talk about what it really looks like to build a strong life as a man—faith first, marriage second, and everything else after that. We get into training principles, building a marriage that improves with time, the empty-nest transition, and the realities of entrepreneurship and real estate in today's market. Kevin also opens up about his experience with TRT, how it impacted his life, and we wrap this section by stepping into peptides and recovery tools like BPC-157 and TB-500. Memorable Quotes "If you've watched Yellowstone, it's nothing like that. We kill slightly fewer people than on the show." "If you're successful in business, but your wife misses you and you're 25 pounds overweight, we know what to work on." "It's better than it was yesterday, but it's not as good as it'll be tomorrow." "God, wife, family—then everything else." "I don't ask myself if I'm going to work out. It's when am I going to work out today?" "We work out every morning together… we noticed when we worked out separately, there was a disconnect." "Most couples put their emotional energy into their kids and forget they'll be married longer than they have children in the house." "TRT literally changed my life." "If you're at 250–350 and you feel like crap… and a doctor says that's normal—find another doctor." "If you're on video games more than an hour a day at the sacrifice of your health, family, and growth—change that." Full Bio - Kevin Davis Kevin Davis is a serial entrepreneur, storyteller, and the founder of Maxed Out Man, a movement helping men live out their God-given purpose through the three pillars of Man, Marriage, and Mission. A leader who believes in building strong men, thriving marriages, and intentional lives, Kevin has launched more than 20 brands and currently operates four companies with eight active brands across industries including automotive, off-road, janitorial, RV, household products, consulting, marketing, and men's coaching. His mission is to help men lead with strength, build marriages that thrive, and live with clarity and conviction in every area of life. Before founding Maxed Out Man, Kevin ran multi-million dollar health clubs and helped grow a computer-fitness startup to over $15M in revenue before launching his own ventures. Over the past 25 years, he has built a diverse portfolio of successful businesses while mentoring other leaders to create impact through faith, strategy, and grit. Kevin has hosted nearly 200 podcast episodes on his shows Maxed Out Man and Cruise Control (now retired). Cruise Control focused on the crossroads of business, entrepreneurship, and marketing within the automotive world, while Maxed Out Man expands that conversation to leadership, faith, and intentional living. His style blends humor, honesty, and practical insight, connecting with audiences who want more than theory; they want truth they can use. At 53, Kevin is living proof that life does not slow down, it gets stronger. He and his wife Michelle have been happily married for over 30 years, building a marriage rooted in faith, laughter, and adventure. Kevin likes to say, "We're happier today than we were last year, and not as happy as we'll be next year." They live in Big Sky Country, Montana, where they build and restore hot rods and Jeeps, explore off-road in their custom-built rally Jeep, and are currently building a 3,400 square foot shop for their latest round of projects, including Kevin's 1965 AC Cobra. Kevin's upcoming book, Living a Maxed Out Life: How I Lost My Left Nut and Other Life Lessons (working title), captures his signature mix of humor, storytelling, and hard-won wisdom. Through it, he challenges men to lead better, love deeper, and live intentionally. Whether he is talking about business, marriage, faith, or horsepower, Kevin's message stays the same: live fully, lead boldly, and live Maxed Out. Feb 10 2026

    🎧 EPISODE DESCRIPTION

About a year ago, I went through something I never expected: addiction.

What started as a natural, alcohol-free wellness drink containing kratom extract slowly turned into something I couldn't ignore. When I finally decided to quit cold turkey, I experienced intense withdrawal symptoms, insomnia, anxiety, and a complete disruption of my dopamine and serotonin balance.

In this raw, unscripted conversation with my friend John from WarriorsBFit, we talk about:
    • Addiction recovery
    • Kratom withdrawal
    • Breaking unhealthy habits
    • Mental health and resilience
    • Why people can't "just quit"
    • Personal growth through pain
    • Masculine accountability and discipline
    • Rebuilding identity after addiction

This episode is about habits, self-awareness, and what happens when you finally let go of the thing holding you back—even when it hurts.

If you're struggling with a substance, a coping mechanism, or a season of burnout, anxiety, or depression, this episode will resonate.

🧠 You are not weak. You are rewiring.
🔥 And recovery is not linear—but it is real.

⚠️ This episode discusses substance use and withdrawal. If you're struggling, consider reaching out to a qualified medical professional or support resource.

Change Your Body. Welcome everybody to another episode of Unleash Your Ultimate You: Change Your Mindset, Change Your Body. Today, I'm doing something a little different. This is a solo episode. I've wanted to do a solo episode for a while now because I really wanted to dive in and give you practical tips—real, usable strategies—for health and fitness. And today, we're talking about New Year's resolutions. Yeah… the dreaded New Year's resolution. Most people make them. Most people don't follow through. And in the health and fitness industry, this is huge. January rolls around, gyms love it. Why? Because people sign up, pay their monthly membership… and then don't show up. That's great for the gym. Not so great for the person paying for it. They literally bank on you quitting. I want to flip that script. I want to help you stay consistent. The January Trap Here's what usually happens: You make the resolution. You're fired up. You've got the new shoes you got for Christmas. New workout outfit. New membership. You're posting on Facebook, Instagram—"I'm all in." Week one? You're on fire. You honestly think, "This is the time. This one's going to stick." Then… life happens. One little thing shows up that throws you off. Maybe it snows. Maybe you're tired. Maybe motivation drops. And by the way—motivation is overrated. Motivation is great in the beginning. Discipline and habits are what actually matter. Motivation fades—especially when you're on your own. So what do you do next? Fitness Has No Finish Line This is something I talk about early in my book. Fitness isn't about crushing massive goals right out of the gate. It's about building small habits. When clients come in, they're excited. They want to dive in hard. They also think there's a destination. There isn't. Fitness is like a relationship. You don't "finish" it. The goal is to build a healthy relationship—with your body, your mind, and your food. When those align, results follow. Even the way you talk to yourself matters. The First Habit: Just Show Up Here's the first thing I tell clients: Just show up. That's it. I don't even want more than 30 minutes. Walk on the treadmill. Do a few machines. It might be sloppy. That's fine. The goal is consistency, not perfection. So how do we make that easier? Make the Habit Obvious Small changes matter. Keep your gym shoes by the doorKeep workout ...
