About this listen

In 2024, I committed to listening to the entire Bible within a year. As I journeyed through the Old Testament, I found myself wondering where these events fit within the broader scope of history. My search for a comprehensive chronological order of the Bible proved unsuccessful, and it was then that I felt led to create one myself. I invite you to join me on this journey—walking through history as we explore Scripture in its historical context.

  • Day 31: Exodus 4-6
    Jan 31 2026

Welcome back to Day 31 of our journey through the Bible—one full month of stepping into God’s story, watching His plan unfold, and discovering what it means for us today. Thank you for walking faithfully through this adventure.

Today, we return to the book of Exodus, picking up with chapters 4 through 6, where Moses moves from reluctant follower to appointed deliverer. These chapters open with tension, uncertainty, and divine reassurance. God equips Moses with signs, strengthens his shaken confidence, and pairs him with Aaron. But as Moses steps into his calling, his obedience immediately meets opposition—Pharaoh’s hardened heart, Israel’s suffering, and Moses’ own doubts.

In Exodus 4–6, we witness three powerful themes:

✨ God equips those He calls—even when they feel inadequate. ✨ Obedience doesn’t always bring instant success—sometimes things get harder before they get better. ✨ God’s covenant faithfulness never wavers—even when His people struggle to believe.

As we step into these chapters, consider this: How often does God ask us to trust Him when the road ahead looks impossible? And where might He be calling you to stand firm, even when the outcome feels out of reach?

So settle in, open your heart, and let’s continue the story of deliverance—where God reminds Moses, Israel, and us: “I am the Lord, and I will bring you out.”

    Let’s begin.

  • Day 30: Exodus 1-3
    Jan 30 2026

Today, we turn the page from Genesis to a brand‑new chapter in the story of God’s people—the book of Exodus. A story of oppression… calling… deliverance… and the birth of a nation shaped by God’s presence.

In today’s reading, Exodus chapters 1 through 3, we step into a world where the descendants of Jacob have multiplied in Egypt, just as God promised. But their growth provokes fear, leading the new Pharaoh to enslave them—and eventually to something far darker.

Yet even in the shadows, God is at work.

We meet Moses, a child preserved through courage and providence, raised in Pharaoh’s household, yet shaped by a deep sense of justice. After fleeing into the wilderness, Moses encounters something that will forever change not only his life, but the entire course of human history: a bush that burns but is not consumed… and the voice of God calling his name.

In these opening chapters of Exodus, we witness three themes that echo throughout the whole Bible:

    1. God sees suffering.
    2. God hears the cries of His people.
    3. God calls ordinary people into extraordinary purposes.

So, as we begin Exodus together, settle in and listen for the heartbeat of God—His compassion, His faithfulness, and His sovereign plan to bring His people out of bondage and into freedom.

    Let’s dive into Exodus 1–3.

  • Day 29: Genesis 48-50
    Jan 29 2026

Welcome back to Day 29 of our Bible‑reading journey! If you’ve been tuning in every day, then congratulations — you’ve now read the entire book of Job and almost all of Genesis. Today, we arrive at the final stretch of this foundational book as we read Genesis chapters 48 through 50.

These chapters bring us to the closing scenes of Jacob’s life, the blessings he speaks over his sons, and the powerful final moments of Joseph’s story — a story of forgiveness, restoration, and God’s unfailing faithfulness. As we wrap up Genesis, we’re reminded that even in seasons of uncertainty, God is always weaving His purposes through the lives of ordinary people.

So grab your Bible, your journal, or simply settle in and listen. Let’s step into the last three chapters of Genesis together.
