When we pursue growth in our relationship with God and others, the expectation is life will get better—not harder. Yet greater maturity often comes with greater opposition. If we believe hard things are bad, then we'll assume either we're blowing it or God is holding out. That's not true. The answer isn't to make a peace treaty with what's coming against you to return to simpler, easier times.
