We all have opinions but it's more important to know what God thinks.

And we have our own but more importantly, we know the One who has all of the answers. And His opinion is really the only one that matters.

Each week Jay and Tom tackle life issues and provide Biblical answers that can strengthen your walk and your talk.

If you're a person of faith, they're here to encourage and equip you to "really believe what you say you believe is really real."

If you're not a person of faith, our podcast can provide some answers to questions you may have about why people of faith believe what they believe.

Jay Scribner was the lead pastor of Branson's First Baptist Church for over 25 years, ministered in many countries overseas, is author of the book "Jesus Follower: Beyond Belief, and heads the ministry Hope For America.

  • Weight Debate - Stewards of "the Temple"
    Aug 14 2026

When the Word refers to our bodies as temples, does it mean physically or spiritually?

    The resounding answer is "Yes!"

Today's podcast isn't to shame anyone but to lay out some very important insights as to why many people are struggling with unwanted pounds.

The food industry is one of our greatest enemies. But deeper yet is the spiritual issue of the lack of wisdom when it comes to what we put into our bodies, as well as why we do it.

What is the difference between obesity and gluttony?

Why is "what is eating us" as important as what we eat?

What makes processed foods such a challenge for us to digest?

    Body shaming isn't the answer.

Gaining God's perspective and wisdom can turn the tide so we can walk in health and freedom.

Isaiah 55 says, "Listen diligently to me, and eat what is good, and delight yourselves in rich food."

Eating isn't the problem. Eating what is good makes all the difference in the world.

  • Why Israel? - The little guy
    Aug 7 2026

    Why Israel? Good question!

You don't have to be a Bible scholar to know much about this Middle Eastern country the size of New Jersey. The country of Israel is in the news on a very regular basis.

What is Zionism, anti-semitic, and the End Times nation have to do with Christians in the world? Let's find out.

Today, we look at the history - His story - of how God has raised up a nation to be the instrument of God's revelation of Himself to the world. We delve into the history of this nation that has been a pivot point in international politics and faith for millennia.

Why has so many nations sought to eradicate the Jewish people from the Earth? Why, after not being a nation for so many centuries has Israel established itself in spite of the surrounding nations seeking its destruction.

One thing is for sure: "He is faithful Who promised." Hebrews 10:23. Israel is an incredible example of God's enduring faithfulness.

  • Wealth - Blessing or burden?
    Jul 31 2026

How do you fit in the wealth scale of the world? (Tom's million dollar bill is obviously not real.)

    - $2,920 is the approximate median annual income across the globe.

    - The average global income is $12,235.

    - Monaco's average income is $186,000 per year.

JD Rockefeller was asked how much money is enough. His simple answer was, "Just a little more."

That seems to be the attitude of a vast majority of people. We see wealth as a goal to reach yet many have no clue just how wealthy they already are. And because of this ignorance, they continue to chase the gold while at the same time amassing more and more "stuff."

So, the biggest question is, "Is your wealth a blessing or a burden?"

Today we look at the Biblical foundation of what and why we are wealthy and also the snare of chasing wealth.

Is having more wealth really the answer to life's problems or is there something to this "contentment" idea?
