My 5th grade students at Mohave Accelerated Learning Center in Bullhead City, Arizona created a new holiday character based in our Mohave Desert. This is a way to teach them how to bring their words to life. The winning story was written by 5th grader, Kai Gambrell. It is about Sly the Coyote, who hates his hometown, but learns to love the desert and its creatures when they save Christmas. The actors are all played by 5th grade students. The story is narrated by Mrs. Jarman, who edited the story to add some detail and more characters. We hope you enjoy a Christmas in the desert!
