The 21st Century Organ Experience

Gustavo Adolfo Domínguez Bastida, más conocido como Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer nació el 17 de febrero de 1836 en Sevilla, hijo de un célebre pintor. Gustavo Adolfo tenía cinco años cuando murió su padre, y a los nueve, falleció su madre. A los diecisiete años viajó a Madrid a buscar fortuna en la literatura. Pasó penalidades, viviendo al día gracias a sus artículos literarios y a sus pinturas. Trabajó en la redacción de "El Contemporáneo" y fue entonces cuando escribió la mayoría de sus leyendas y las "Cartas desde mi celda".

En esta leyenda Bécquer nos cuenta la historia del organista ciego de la iglesia de Santa Inés de Sevilla, apodado Maese Pérez, que aún habiendo sido ofrecido la posibilidad de tocar el órgano en lugares de mucho mayor prestigio siempre se niega y sólo quiere hacerlo en el pobre convento de Santa Inés.
