It has been well-established that many of the injustices that people around the world experience every day are the result of wide-scale structural problems of politics and economics. Just Responsibility integrates ways of taking political responsibility into a rich theory of political community, accountability, and leadership in which taking responsibility for injustice itself transforms the fabric of political life.

This book is the first of its kind to examine the role of great powers in the international politics of climate change. It develops a novel analytical framework for studying environmental power in international relations, what counts as a great power in the environmental field, and what their special environmental responsibilities are. In doing so, the book connects International Relations (IR) debates on power inequality, great powers and great power management, with global environmental politics (GEP) scholarship.

Environmental Guilt and Shame makes three major claims: first, individuals and collectives can have identity, agency, and responsibility and thus guilt and shame. Second, some agents, including collectives, should feel guilt and/or shame for environmental degradation if they hold environmental values and think that their actions shape and reveal their identity. Third, a number of conditions are required to conceptually, existentially, and practically deal with guilt and shame's effects on agents.

Q: How do I put the feeling of responsibility into action? We approach a problem from the outer to the inner and the inner to the outer. It is an endless ebb and flow. Who has created the division, this structure as the outer and the inner? We are educated in that and are caught in it. Division takes place when there is an image in the mind.
