Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland tells the story of a young girl named Alice who, while sitting bored with her sister, follows a white rabbit down a rabbit hole into a fantastical world. In Wonderland, Alice experiences a series of bizarre and illogical encounters, including a shrinking potion and growing cake, meeting the Cheshire Cat, attending a mad tea party with the Mad Hatter, and playing croquet with the ill-tempered Queen of Hearts.

In Wonderland, she encounters strange creatures like the White Rabbit, the Cheshire Cat, the Mad Hatter, and the Queen of Hearts, each more surreal than the last.

After 10 years of being told she can't tell the difference between real life and a fairy tale, Alice finally stops believing in Wonderland. So when the White Rabbit shows up at her house, Alice thinks she's going crazy. Only when the White Rabbit kicks her down the rabbit hole does Alice realize that the magical land she visited as a child is real. But all is not well in Wonderland. Lewis Carroll was a minister in the Church of England and a Professor of Mathematics at Christ Church College. In his diary he described "An expedition up the river to Godstowe with the three Liddells", daughters of the college Dean, "on which occasion I told them the fairy tale of 'Alice's Adventures Underground', which I undertook to write out for Alice".
