Ernest McMillan began writing essays and short stories in earnest while imprisoned for his work as a Civil Rights activist. Ranging from commentaries on society to short stories and poetry, these pieces reflect the experiences of a fugitive, revolutionary spirit. This collection of poetry and short stories exists in tandem with Standing, a memoir of McMillan's experiences as a human rights activist. From the particular to the universal, Kneeling meditates on how precious and invaluable it is to sit still, to reflect, and go to one’s interior and feast on what truly matters.

“The Darkness Man” is Yesenin’s last major poetic work. It expressed the mood of despair and horror in front of an incomprehensible reality, a dramatic feeling of the futility of any attempts to penetrate the mystery of existence.

Life is full of love, but it is also full of loss. Like paper cuts to the heart, every big and seemingly insignificant loss—the loss of friendships, faith, dreams, health, community, and everything in between—grieves us more than we think it will, and often more than we let on. Why? Because they matter. In this compassionate and deeply personal book, Rachel Marie Kang invites you to see and be seen in the midst of your sorrow, your suffering—your story.

William Wordsworth belonged to a chosen band of poets for whom poetry was a priesthood, displayed in his unerring devotion to his art. He nourished his unique poetic gift by daily intimacy with Nature. It is Wordworth’s peculiar achievement to reveal the impulses at work behind the outward beauty of Nature, and to manifest its sustaining influence upon the spirit of man.
