An acknowledged classic of the heroic Puritan tradition, and a founding text in the development of the English novel, The Pilgrim's Progress has inspired readers for over three centuries. The story of Christian, whose pilgrimage takes him through the Slough of Despond, Vanity Fair, and the Delectable Mountains, is full of danger and adventure. The Pilgrim’s Progress, written by John Bunyon in 1678 is the first, most famous and widely read Christian novel of all time. It has been translated into 200 languages and never been out of print. The language in this version has been slightly modernised. Masterfully and dramatically read by Christopher Glyn. His talented voice and knowledge of the text makes for a rich listening experience.

In this production dramatist Brian Sibley delivers a fresh perspective and wonderful re-telling of the adventures of Christian, a pilgrim who embarks on a perilous journey from his hometown, the allegorical City of Destruction, to the Celestial City, or Heaven.

Brother Juniper, a Franciscan friar, witnesses this event and this sets him on a quest: Who were each of these individuals? Why do unfortunate events happen to innocent or undeserving people?
