Je sais ce que les gens disent de moi. Eric Callahan, "Le Requin". Ce titre me reflète à la perfection. Je suis un homme puissant. Mon sens aigu des affaires m'a valu ce surnom. Ma façade est mon armure. Sous cette couche de protection, je cache tout l'amour que j'ai pour ma fille. Depuis que sa mère est morte, je lui consacre ma vie. Développer mon entreprise sur la côte ouest est une façon de m'assurer de lui réserver l'héritage qu'elle mérite. Et c'est tout ce que je prévois de faire pendant nos trois mois à San Francisco.

Je sais ce que pensent les gens lorsqu'ils entendent le nom Sebastian Bennett. Déterminé. Impitoyable. Responsable d'un empire commercial. De l'extérieur, je semble invincible. En privé, par contre, ma famille est une priorité. Mes parents. Mes huit, oui huit, frères et sœurs. Chacun d'entre eux ne cesse de me harceler pour que je me range et que je me marie. J'ai beau être invincible, je n'arrive pas à leur échapper. Peu importe le nombre incalculable de fois où je leur ai expliqué patiemment que je ne crois pas en l'amour. C'était sans compter sur Ava Lindt.

Tout le monde connaît mes priorités. Logan Bennett, fidèle à ma famille et à mon entreprise. Je n'ai pas le temps pour l'amour. Je n'en ai pas l'envie. Pas depuis l'échec de mes fiançailles qui m'a laissé le cœur brisé. Les histoires d'amour, c'est fini pour moi. Puis Nadine Hawthorne débarque dans ma vie, même si elle n'a pas la moindre idée qu'elle va tout bouleverser. Elle se la joue "Oh, je me concentre sur ma boutique de vêtements", et "je ne peux pas me permettre de me laisser distraire", comme si ce n'était pas elle qui me distrayait de tout le reste.
