Reno and Will team up with John Tailer Bishop to find his wife, Angelina. She receives a mysterious letter, tells Bishop she has to go to Antelope Spring in Arizona Territory to help her aunt, then disappears. When Bishop finds out she doesn't have an aunt in Antelope Spring, he sets out to find her. Along the way, he runs into Reno and Will. The three of them find out Angelina doesn't get on a stagecoach to Antelope Spring when she is supposed to. From there, they trail her to an outlaw town where the main man is looking for his 'first lady'.

Reno Gates and Will Morgan are on the trail again, this time going to the Pacific Ocean that Will wanted to see. Along the way, they stop at a trailside store where a blonde-haired girl gets Will's attention. She and her family are headed to Oregon by wagon. After seeing the ocean, Reno takes Will up to Oregon to visit a good friend of Reno's. Along the way, they have to deal with men who want to rob them, a town intent on hanging a Black man, and the deaths of that blonde-haired girl and her family.

Reno Gates and Will Morgan have completed a trip around Wyoming and are headed for Salt Lake City. There, they meet Marshal Garett Coleman, who asks them to escort Eva Mayes to Sacramento for a trial. Faye Gilson, Eva's best friend, is also with her.

When Reno found out his former fiancée was in Wyoming and had not heard from her, things started getting complicated. Reno set out to find her. Will did his best to keep it all straight, but one complication after another cropped up.
